About the Role
The Geographic Information Systems Analyst provides data, analysis and mapping services that enable informed decision-making across the G Network. The role will be expected to use problem solving skills to interpret GIS data and provide spatial analytical insight and visualisation to support strategic decision making, property transactions, asset management and legal activities across the business.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners and stakeholders, the Geographic Information Systems Analyst ensures the effective management of spatial data, promotes best practice in geospatial and contributes to the continuous improvement of GIS tools, processes and services across the business.
The role will be expected to identify opportunities to improve geospatial services through automation, process improvement and the adoption of new technologies to futureproof GIS workflows as well as other future business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Analyse, maintain and update geospatial datasets related to telecom infrastructure (e.g., as-builts, AddressBase data, OSMM, Network layer).
- Perform quality assurance and control on spatial data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Convert, process, and integrate data from various formats (e.g., CAD, KML, JSON, CSV).
- Create detailed and accurate maps to support projects such as site selection, network expansion, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Conduct spatial analysis, including buffer analysis, network optimization, and accessibility studies.
- Generate reports and visualizations to support business decisions (e.g., Salesforce, ESRI).
- Use ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online for mapping, analysis, and data sharing.
- Utilize QGIS as needed for specific tasks or projects.
- Manage and customize web-based GIS applications using ArcGIS Online and related tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and operations teams to support telecom projects.
- Provide GIS-related technical support to other team members.
- Identify opportunities to enhance workflows through automation and scripting (e.g., Python for ArcGIS).
- Assist in developing and documenting GIS standards and procedures.

Required Skills
The following qualifications/qualities/experience are essential:
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (ArcGIS Pro) and ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with GIS field and its capabilities, as well as geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, CAD).
- Ability to perform data transformation and integration from various sources.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Having great communication skills is also necessary as you will also be liaising with different teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy.
- Exceptional PC skills.
- Understanding of telecom data structures and networks is a significant advantage.
- Open to learning and adopting new tools and technologies in the evolving GIS and telecommunications fields.
The interview process will include a short practical exercise to assess the candidate’s familiarity with the system, data handling skills, and ability to complete typical tasks associated with the role.
Preferred Skills
- ESRI Platform Experience (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online), QGIS (basic), SQL knowledge.
- Salesforce experience (not essential).
- AddressBase Premium knowledge is desirable not essential.
- Microsoft Office.
