Geography Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Wadhurst, East Sussex
Start Date: January 2027
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Pay: £32,000 – £51,000 per annum (MPS1 – UPS3, dependent on experience)
Teach South Kent are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Wadhurst who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Geography Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position starting in January 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher looking for a new role from January, joining a supportive department and contributing to the continued development of Geography across the school.

- Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Full-time maternity cover from January 2027
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
- Supporting students to make strong academic progress
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Geography department
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Geography Teacher who:
- Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or relevant teaching experience
- Has a strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum
- Can deliver engaging and effective lessons
- Has high expectations of students
- Is organised, reliable and committed
- Works well as part of a wider school team
