Are you a Geotechnical Engineer looking to apply your expertise to some of the world's most technically demanding infrastructure projects?
This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering practical, reliable ground engineering solutions that support the successful development of critical infrastructure such as data centres.
As a Geotechnical Engineer at Black & White Engineering, you will contribute to projects from the earliest stages of site evaluation through to detailed design and construction support. Your work will help inform critical decisions around foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and ground-related risks, ensuring designs are both technically robust and commercially practical.
You will collaborate closely with civil, structural and multidisciplinary engineering teams while developing your expertise on high-profile projects where precision and quality matter.

What You'll Be Doing
- Assess the suitability of ground investigation scopes and recommend additional investigations where required.
- Review and interpret ground investigation data, laboratory testing results and geological information.
- Deliver geotechnical assessments and design recommendations to support infrastructure and building projects.
- Identify geotechnical constraints and risks and develop practical mitigation strategies to support safe and efficient construction and any opportunities relevant to project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations for foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, slopes, excavations, and ground improvement solutions appropriate to project requirements and site conditions.
- Support value engineering initiatives by identifying practical and cost-effective geotechnical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with civil, structural and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project development and delivery.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, calculations and design documentation. Review calculations, reports, and design deliverables prepared by external consultants.
- Support construction activities through technical reviews, site visits and responses to geotechnical queries.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of geotechnical best practices and technical standards within the Civil and Structural engineering business unit.
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, ground behaviour and foundation design.
- Experience delivering geotechnical engineering services across building, infrastructure or construction projects.
- Ability to interpret ground investigation data and develop technically sound engineering recommendations.
- Experience producing clear technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional accreditation).
