Are you a Geotechnical Engineer looking to broaden beyond a single technical lane and build a genuinely well-rounded career? We are recruiting for a growing, independent geotechnical design practice in London, working across major buildings, tunnelling, and maritime projects in the UK and globally, offering a real platform to develop across detailed design, FEM, AI, and digitalisation, alongside genuine commercial, client, and business exposure.
This role isn't about staying narrowly focused on one discipline. You'll be working across some of the most technically interesting projects in the sector, buildings, tunnels, and maritime structures, while developing skills that go well beyond pure design, commercial awareness, client relationships, and exposure to how the business actually operates.

The Role
You will work on detailed geotechnical design and analysis across a genuinely varied project portfolio, applying finite element modelling and increasingly digital and AI-driven approaches to modern geotechnical engineering. Alongside the technical delivery, you'll gain direct exposure to client relationships, commercial aspects of projects, and business development, helping you build a rounder, more complete skillset rather than remaining purely technical.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed geotechnical design across major building, tunnelling, and maritime projects
- Apply finite element analysis (FEM) to complex ground engineering problems
- Engage with digitalisation and AI-driven approaches to design and analysis
- Work directly with clients, developing commercial awareness and relationship management skills
- Support business development activity alongside technical delivery
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on UK and international projects
- Contribute to technical proposals and project scoping

What We're Looking For
- Strong geotechnical design and analysis background, piling experience preferred
- Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
