Geotechnical Engineer (Site Investigations)

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 + Training + Progression + Site Based + Days Based + Company Vehicle

Do you have experience in site investigation looking to join a national geotechnical specialist offering a wide range of site work, industry training and long-term progression?

This fast-growing company delivers a comprehensive suite of site surveying, ground investigation, and laboratory testing services across the UK. Since its recent establishment in 2012, it has experienced consistent growth and is now seeking a motivated individual to join their team of 38 other Engineers.

In this role you will primarily be site-based working on a wide range of projects where no two days are the same. You will be going to sites nationwide (stayaways expected) collecting data, logging boreholes and acquiring water, rock and mineral samples. You will be responsible for preparing geotechnical investigation plans as well as producing high-quality geotechnical reports of your findings when office based.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
