BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer to join its Ground Engineering team, responsible for planning and leading the safe, high-quality delivery of geotechnical works across a range of infrastructure and construction projects. Based from the Kilsyth office in Glasgow, this predominantly site-based role involves managing technical and operational aspects of ground engineering activities throughout Scotland, with flexibility to work in the North of England and Midlands as required. The successful candidate will provide geotechnical expertise, ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards, and support project teams in achieving quality, programme and performance objectives while being willing to travel and stay away from home when necessary.
Making Possible
As Geotechnical /Section Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments
- Writing and maintaining of HSQE documentation
- Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works’ to an excellent technical standard
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties
- Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site
- Accurate record keeping for site activities, and short term forecasting of resources on a project basis
- Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business

What do you bring to the role?
Required – Experience in delivering geotechnical works’, competence at management and supervision of project teams, documentation writing, communication skills both written and verbal at all levels
Preferred – RoGEP, Professional Membership, CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, PTS
