Role Purpose

The German E-Commerce Executive will be responsible for supporting and driving the commercial performance of Evolution Power Tools' German digital channels. Working within the European Commerce team, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day trading of the German Shopify website, support marketplace growth, optimise the customer journey, and contribute to digital marketing activity to deliver ambitious sales and profitability targets.

This role requires a commercially minded individual who combines strong e-commerce knowledge with excellent analytical skills and an understanding of the German consumer.

Key Responsibilities

Website Trading & Commercial Performance

  • Manage the day-to-day trading of the German Shopify website.
  • Produce and execute monthly trading plans aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Maintain website content, merchandising and promotional activity.
  • Optimise category pages, landing pages and product presentation.
  • Continually improve the customer journey to maximise conversion rate, average order value and customer satisfaction.
  • Execute promotional campaigns, product launches and seasonal trading plans.

Website Optimisation

  • Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to improve user experience and commercial performance.
  • Work with internal development teams and external partners to implement technical improvements and new functionality.
  • Ensure website content remains accurate, engaging and optimised for search engines.
  • Support ongoing SEO improvements and website health.

Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition

  • Support the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns across key acquisition channels.
  • Assist with email marketing, SEO, paid media and affiliate activity where required.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to maximise traffic quality and return on investment.

Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators including:
    • Sales and revenue
    • Gross margin
    • Conversion rate
    • Website traffic
    • Average Order Value (AOV)
    • Customer acquisition costs
    • Return on advertising spend (ROAS)
    • Customer engagement
    • Basket abandonment
    • Customer journey performance
  • Use data and customer insights to identify opportunities and recommend improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Development teams to ensure successful execution of trading initiatives.
  • Support localisation of content and promotional campaigns for the German market.
  • Share best practice and e-commerce knowledge across the wider business.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Fluent German and English, with an excellent understanding of German language and culture.
  • Experience managing or supporting an e-commerce website, preferably Shopify or Shopify Plus.
  • Strong understanding of online retail and digital commerce.
  • Experience merchandising products and managing website content.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and website optimisation.
  • Experience using Google Analytics (GA4 preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make commercially focused recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience with Shopify Liquid or HTML/CSS.
  • Experience managing marketplaces such as Amazon, ManoMano or similar.
  • Google Ads or other paid media experience.
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Looker Studio or similar reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge or experience within the power tools, DIY or construction sectors.
