German Speaking Financial Crime Auditor

Job Type: Contract
Location: UK-based
Pay: PAYE day rate
Location: London-based / On-site 3 days in office

Job Overview

We are seeking a German Speaking Financial Crime Auditor for an immediate contract opportunity supporting a Germany Financial Crimes audit. This assignment is expected to start as soon as possible and is currently anticipated to run through 20 November 2026.

This role requires a senior-level professional with strong German financial crime regulatory expertise to support audit activity, review scope completeness, identify gaps, and conduct targeted testing where additional regulatory insight is needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a Germany-focused Financial Crimes audit engagement
  • Review audit scope for completeness against German regulatory expectations
  • Identify potential control, compliance, and audit coverage gaps
  • Perform targeted testing in areas requiring specialist regulatory knowledge
  • Provide subject matter expertise on German financial crime regulations and requirements
  • Collaborate with internal audit and stakeholder teams to strengthen audit delivery
  • Advise on regulatory considerations relevant to BaFin and broader German financial crime compliance frameworks

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of BaFin regulations and related Financial Crimes requirements
  • Fluent or professional-level German language skills
  • Experience performing or supporting regulatory audits in Germany
  • Strong understanding of financial crime risk, controls, and regulatory expectations
  • Ability to assess audit coverage and identify gaps in scope or testing

Preferred Background

  • Senior Auditor with financial crime and regulatory audit experience, or
  • Deep BaFin and German regulatory subject matter expertise, even if not from a traditional audit background
