Remote • English Voice Recording • Under 60 Minutes • Earn $15–$27+ Per Completed Task
Your voice can help us better understand how people from different language backgrounds naturally speak and interact with voice technology.
Volga Partners is inviting multilingual participants to join a Global Language Research Project focused on understanding natural English speech across different languages, accents, generations, regions, and devices.
Participants will complete a short, guided English voice-recording activity remotely using their own device. Most participants finish in approximately 20–35 minutes, and the entire task is designed to take less than 60 minutes. No professional voice, acting, or research experience is required.
🎙️ Important: Recordings Are in English
Although we are seeking participants from different language and cultural backgrounds, all recording prompts for this project will be in English.
Participants should:
- Have strong English reading and comprehension skills
- Be comfortable reading short English sentences and conversational prompts aloud
- Be able to understand and follow written instructions in English
- Speak clearly and naturally when recording
You do not need a specific English accent. We want to hear natural voices from people with different language backgrounds.

- Chinese — Mandarin, Cantonese & regional varieties
- Vietnamese
- Portuguese
- Albanian
- European / Metropolitan French
- Canadian French
- African French
- North African / Maghrebi French
- Arabic-French
- Caribbean French
- Haitian French
- Other regional French accents & varieties

👥 Voices Across Generations
We’re looking for adults across different generations and backgrounds to help us capture a broad range of natural voices.
Age Groups:
- 18–27
- 28–39
- 40–54
- 55–70
- 71+
Participants age 50+ are especially encouraged to apply — additional incentive available!
🎧 What You’ll Do
Selected participants will:
- Read and record short conversational prompts in English
- Use their natural speaking voice and pronunciation
- Complete the recording remotely from a quiet location
- Follow simple recording and audio-quality instructions
- Submit completed recordings through the designated project platform
- Respond to the project team if clarification or a rerecording is needed
The goal is clear, natural, everyday speech — no professional recording experience is necessary.
📱 What You’ll Need
Participants must have access to a clear, properly working personal device capable of completing voice-recording activities. Compatible devices may include:
- Smartphone
- Tablet / iPad
- Laptop or desktop computer
- Apple computer, including MacBook or iMac
iPad and Apple computer users are especially encouraged to apply — additional incentive available!
You will also need:
- Reliable internet access
- A quiet indoor recording environment
- Strong English reading and comprehension skills
- Ability to clearly read English prompts aloud
- Fluency or strong proficiency in at least one of the listed language groups

💰 Compensation
This is a paid, remote research opportunity.
- $25.00 per completed task: European / Metropolitan French, Canadian French
- $20.00 per completed task: Albanian
- $15.00 per completed task: Chinese — Mandarin, Cantonese & regional varieties, Vietnamese, Portuguese, African French, North African / Maghrebi French, Arabic-French, Caribbean French, Haitian French, Other regional French accents & varieties
⭐ Earn an Additional $2.00
Receive an additional $2.00 on top of your applicable task rate if ANY of the following applies to you:
- Age 55–70
- Age 71+
- Recording on an iPad
- Recording on an Apple computer (MacBook or iMac)
If you qualify under any of the categories above, an additional $2.00 will be added to your applicable task rate. Please select your correct age range and the device you intend to use when registering so our team can confirm your eligibility.
