GI Mixed Role | Capital & Reserving
One of the biggest attractions of this role is the breadth of experience on offer. It would be particularly interesting for a part-qualified or nearly-qualified GI Actuary currently focused predominantly on Reserving or Capital who wants to broaden their experience across both areas.
There's plenty of variety across the position, with exposure to capital modelling, reserving and wider GI actuarial work, alongside the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop your stakeholder management experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
There's also a strong development angle to the role. You'll work alongside experienced actuaries across different technical areas, while gradually taking on more responsibility and supporting the development of junior members of the team.
The position offers a flexible approach to working and a strong work-life balance, with flexibility around hours and working patterns alongside a good overall benefits package. The employer specifically considers reduced hours and job shares as part of that flexibility.
