The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and ambitious coach to help shape the future of the U13s girls’ squad at Rangers Football Club, being a key part of a progressive academy environment. This role is about the development of talented young female footballers in the U13s squad. The successful candidate will have the right personality to maximise development relative to the age and stage of the players, delivering high quality coaching sessions aligned with the club’s football philosophy and taking responsibility for planning, delivering and reviewing training to ensure every player reaches their full potential.
Working closely with the Academy Manager, you will place player wellbeing at the heart of everything you do while creating a challenging, supportive and inclusive environment that motivates and inspires young athletes. You will oversee individual player development through tailored targets, regular reviews and effective management processes, ensuring each player is treated as a unique development project.

The role also involves contributing to the ongoing evolution of the academy curriculum, supporting a high performance coaching culture, maintaining up to date knowledge of best practice in player development, and ensuring all administrative responsibilities are completed to a professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver academy training sessions in line with the club’s football philosophy and methodology, planning, delivering and reviewing every session to the highest standard.
- Take responsibility for individual player development, setting tailored targets (IPTs) and conducting regular reviews so that each player is treated as a unique development project.
- Work closely with the Academy Manager to place player wellbeing at the heart of all coaching activity.
- Create a challenging, supportive and inclusive environment that motivates and inspires young players.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the academy curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant to all aspects of the game model.
- Support the implementation of Rangers’ high performance coaching culture.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice in player development.
- Motivate and challenge all players in your care.
- Participate in Girls’ Academy management meetings as required.
- Complete all administrative duties, including Sport Office and player reports, to a professional standard and in a timely manner.

The Candidate
- Advanced Children’s Licence / UEFA Youth B Licence / UEFA Youth A Licence
- Confident individual with good presence, engaging personality and profile with the ability to be self-composed and patient in all situations.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, along with very good interpersonal skills, administration, and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT skills including all Microsoft packages, sports office, and analysis software.
- An engaging, innovative individual with an ability to captivate and motivate staff and players.
- An ability to multi-task and must understand the range of functions which make an academy and high-performance environment.
- Must have a desire to learn and display a growth mindset.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
