Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. About The Role

This role is part of a team that plays a key part in maintaining and developing the Council’s corporate GIS and address data. You’ll be responsible for keeping the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and Street Naming and Numbering data accurate, up to date and compliant with national standards, helping the Council retain its Gold Standard status.

You’ll also provide day-to-day GIS support to colleagues across the organisation, responding to requests via the ICT Service Desk and working closely with other GIS and ICT colleagues to support and improve our systems and services.

  • Assist with the maintenance and quality assurance of the Local Land and Property Gazetteer, ensuring data is accurate, complete and up to date
  • Deliver the Council’s statutory Street Naming and Numbering function, ensuring it aligns with LLPG processes.
  • Ensure data updates are submitted to the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) within agreed timescales.
  • Represent the Council on LLPG matters, including attending relevant regional or national user groups where required.
  • Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the Council’s Corporate GIS.
  • Provide advice, guidance and hands-on support to GIS users across the organisation.
  • Respond to GIS-related support calls and change requests logged through the ICT Service Desk.
  • Create and supply bespoke GIS datasets when requested.
  • Support the transfer of GIS data internally and externally.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of BS7666 standards.
  • Work with internal customers to understand their GIS needs and priorities.

Experience with the following systems would be beneficial:

  • IDOX (particularly Uniform)
  • QGIS
