Role Purpose

Reporting to the SVP Operations UK&I, the Station Manager is responsible for the business interests and operations at Glasgow Airport.

The current dedicated customer model provides a focused product offering, with principal services being passenger services, ramp, ops, de-icing and aircraft cleaning. The role requires a proven manager with a strong operational and business understanding.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Planning, organisation and direction of operational activities at Glasgow Airport.
  • Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual, and according to international aviation standards.
  • Leading, developing, coaching and motivating managers to develop and utilise their skills.
  • Maximising business potential and revenue, identifying and developing new business opportunities were appropriate.
  • Leading service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with service level agreements and agreed budgetary levels.
  • Instilling policies and procedures designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the station, whilst promoting sound safety, security and people management practices.
  • Establishing, maintaining and promoting effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Liaising with employee and union representatives on a range of employee relations matters when required.
  • Monitoring performance and taking action to correct any shortfalls.
  • Liaising with airline station managers, airport operations management, handling agents, customs, immigration, and security officials, union officials, and other airport stakeholders.
  • Providing reports as required, and service delivery measurements.
  • Work shifts as required by the business

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrable leadership skills in managing, maintaining and developing an operational workforce.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of aviation services, ideally to include ramp, freight, and passenger handling.
  • Financially and commercially astute with a strong grasp of financial practices including P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong communications skills and experience in liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnel.
  • Fully conversant with international airline ramp handling procedures, international aviation safety and security procedures. Good working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
  • Able to work with a multi-national work force and to adjust to the local conditions of the station.
  • Good knowledge of ramp GSE.
  • Good working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
  • Ability to develop and motivate senior management team and work well under pressurized environments, often with conflicting priorities.
  • Flexible, determined and self-motivated.
