Role Summary
We are seeking a Robot Supervisor to oversee the deployment, operation, and performance of our autonomous harvesting and crop protection robots and to drive the wider automation and efficiency agenda across the glasshouse. This is a specialist, hands-on role working closely with a large team of robot operatives and operational management.
You will be the site expert for robotic harvesting, responsible for day-to-day robot performance and optimisation, ensuring robots and picking teams deliver maximum quality and reliability. The role will also be supporting The Glasshouse's wider automation goals across internal logistics, husbandry, and packing.

The role will be supported and work closely with a larger supervision team and will be required to aid and provide flexible supervisory support across roles when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation and performance of harvesting, UV and biological robots.
- Configure, calibrate and adjust robot settings to maximise picking efficiency and quality.
- Monitor robot performance against KPIs, identifying trends, issues and improvement opportunities.
- Supervise and support a team of robot operatives.
- Train new operatives in safe, effective robot operation.
- Carry out routine, preventative and reactive maintenance on robots.
- Diagnose and resolve or report mechanical and software faults.
- Ensure robots are maintained to a high standard to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
- Support the development of other automated systems: Identify opportunities, develop solutions and integrate into our systems.
- Improve the quality, reliability and reporting of data capture so performance gains can be identified and provide measurable gains.
- Point of contact for robotic technology suppliers for further development, troubleshooting and servicing.
- Provide cover and backup for the wider Glasshouse team, stepping in to support Glasshouse supervisors in team management and technical duties.
- Integrate developing and new technologies into the existing data, control and operational systems.
- Promote safe working practices sitewide and specific human-automation activities.

Essential:
- Experience working with robotics, automation or advanced machinery in a production environment.
- Experience supervising or leading people in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Confident working with software interfaces, dashboards and performance data.
