About the Role
This is a new role within our large multidisciplinary team to enhance the care of glaucoma patients.
The glaucoma sub-specialty is one of several sub-specialties within Ophthalmology. This role's main purpose is to be part of an integral glaucoma specific team to create a better flow for our high flow outpatient clinics. You will be at the forefront of their glaucoma care, conducting diagnostic testing and history taking.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the multidisciplinary team to provide an efficient and effective ophthalmic service.
- Perform various ophthalmic investigations including visual field and acuity testing, eye pressure check which assesses the visual function of patients attending the eye clinic.
- Conduct ocular imaging.
- Support the day-to-day clinic activity within the Glaucoma department.
- Lead the technician-led clinic independently.
- Assist medical teams in providing gold standard patient care.
- Meet and interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
