Where You Sit

As our Global Assistant Accountant - Cash, you’ll be part of the Finance team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Global Financial Accounting Manager. You’ll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

Where You Contribute

The Global Assistant Accountant, Cash supports the accurate, timely and well-controlled accounting of cash, bank and related balance sheet accounts across all group entities. Working as part of the global cash accounting team, this role is responsible for performing high-quality reconciliations, resolving variances and supporting robust month-end close processes.

By ensuring the integrity of cash balances and supporting strong financial controls, the role underpins reliable financial reporting, effective working capital management and scalable global finance operations.

Core Accountabilities

As our Global Assistant Accountant - Cash, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing global cash and bank accounting, performing daily and monthly accounting activities, preparing accurate bank reconciliations and ensuring cash transactions are recorded completely and correctly across retail, e-commerce and holding entities.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and balance sheet integrity, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end close activities and ensuring compliance with Group accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders, responding to cash-related queries and working closely with Treasury, Retail Operations, Customer Services and Finance teams to support effective cash and banking processes.
  • Supporting audit and compliance activities, preparing accurate documentation, maintaining audit-ready records and assisting with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement and team collaboration, identifying opportunities to enhance cash accounting processes, sharing best practice and providing support across the wider Finance team as required.

Key Skills & Capabilities

Put simply, the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Experience in finance or accounting, with exposure to cash accounting, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and a good understanding of accounting controls and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues accurately and maintain high standards of financial integrity.
  • Good technical capability, including confidence using Excel to analyse large data sets and support accurate financial reporting and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and build effective working relationships with colleagues across Finance and international teams.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, demonstrating initiative to improve processes and ways of working, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and a relevant accounting qualification in progress considered advantageous.
