Communications Apprentice

At IHG, our Global Communications team helps shape how colleagues around the world stay connected to the strategy, stories and culture behind one of the world’s leading hotel companies. A move within the team has created an opportunity for someone at the start of their communications career to join our Global Corporate Affairs function.

We're not looking for someone with all the answers. We're looking for someone bright, curious and eager to learn. Someone who enjoys writing, spotting opportunities, building relationships and getting stuck into a wide range of projects.

This role sits within our Global Communications team and offers exposure to both internal and external communications. You’ll work with experienced communications colleagues across key offices in Atlanta, Windsor and Shanghai, as well as smaller satellite offices around the world.

No two weeks look the same.

You might be drafting content for our global intranet, supporting communications around company results, helping deliver a global town hall, creating stories that bring our culture to life, or producing media updates for senior leaders. Along the way, you'll gain hands-on experience across internal communications, corporate affairs and reputation management.

A flavour of what you’ll be doing

  • Developing compelling news stories, initiatives and creative content
  • Helping deliver global communications campaigns and key business announcements
  • Supporting global events, town halls and leadership communications
  • Managing content across our intranet and corporate website
  • Producing newsletters, media round-ups and team updates
  • Using data and insights to understand what resonates with audiences

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
