We don't just scrape job listings. We curate truth at scale. Every employer we publish is checked against official sponsor registries, and every contact we hand to our premium members is validated. That verification engine runs on Python — and we're hiring the person to build and run it.
About the Role
This is a technical research role, not manual data entry.
You will write and maintain Python scripts that index publicly available employer information worldwide, cross-reference every company against official visa sponsor registries to determine whether they can genuinely sponsor foreign workers, and validate hiring manager phone numbers on WhatsApp so our members never waste time on dead contacts.
You're building a verification engine: collect → cross-reference → validate → deduplicate → hand over clean, trustworthy data.

What You'll Do
Python Scripting & Automated Data Collection
- Write and maintain Python scripts that crawl and index publicly available employer information across job boards, government registries, corporate websites, LinkedIn, trade directories and industry databases
- Build reliable scrapers and parsers using requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium/Playwright, pandas and regex — with proper error handling, retries, logging and rate limiting
- Design the data pipeline: collection → cleaning → deduplication → normalisation → enrichment → structured output (CSV, JSON, SQL, Sheets, Airtable)
- Scrape responsibly: respect robots.txt, rate limits and terms of service. Publicly indexed information only — no paywall bypassing, no unauthorised access
- Automate recurring research so coverage scales without scaling manual hours
Employer Cross-Referencing & Visa Sponsorship Verification
- Cross-reference every employer against official government sponsor licence registries and reputable corporate databases across our target regions (UK, Canada, EU/Germany, Gulf states, Australia, New Zealand)
- Build scripted logic that flags whether a company currently holds the right to sponsor foreign workers, recording the source and date of verification
- Produce a confidence score per employer — from "confirmed active sponsor with registry entry" down to "unverified, do not publish"
- Detect red flags: mismatched domains, duplicated company names across unrelated addresses, shell company patterns, third-party recruiters charging hidden fees, known scam signatures
- Keep every verification record auditable — each claim must trace to an official source

WhatsApp Number Validation
- Verify whether every extracted hiring manager, HR or business owner phone number is active on WhatsApp before it reaches our premium members
- Use the WhatsApp Business API, wa.me link checks, or scripted validation to confirm WhatsApp availability in bulk
- Record validation status (active / not on WhatsApp / invalid / unreachable) alongside each contact
- Flag WhatsApp-enabled numbers with a business profile — these are the highest-value contacts for our members
- Maintain a validation log so contacts can be re-checked periodically
- Stay strictly within ethical and platform-compliant validation methods. No spamming, no unsolicited mass messaging, no number harvesting outside a legitimate verification purpose
Lead Enrichment & Contact Extraction
- Find direct contact details for hiring managers, HR departments and business owners — beyond what's in the job description
- Use OSINT, advanced Boolean search, LinkedIn, corporate registries and verification tools to confirm emails and phone numbers are accurate
- Format and load enriched data into our CMS, ready for immediate member use
Quality Control & Database Maintenance
- Schedule recurring re-runs to refresh expired listings, fix broken links, remove filled positions and re-validate contacts
- Audit existing entries for accuracy, consistency and duplicates
- Work with the technical team on data ingestion and CMS issues
Documentation & Collaboration
- Document every script, pipeline and verification method so the work is reproducible
- Send a daily handover summary to the IFMOSA Operations Manager
- Join the daily check-in at the start of the Sweden-time window and stay reachable through the shift
- Produce weekly reports: employers indexed, sponsors confirmed, WhatsApp numbers validated, red flags caught, pipeline issues
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 10:00 – 17:00 Sweden time (CET/CEST) — to align with the IFMOSA Operations Manager
- 1 hour unpaid lunch break within that window
- 7 paid hours per day · 35 paid hours per week
- 100% remote — work from anywhere, but you must be reliably online and responsive during the Sweden-time window
- Time zone discipline is essential. This role only works if you're consistently available during the agreed shift
Compensation & Contract Terms
Please read carefully before applying. This is a contractor arrangement, not employment. The terms below are fixed.
- Rate: $19 USD per hour
- Paid hours: 7 per day, 35 per week (1-hour daily lunch break is unpaid)
- Weekly: ≈ $665 USD
- Monthly: ≈ $2,850 USD (depending on working days in the month)
- Annual equivalent: ≈ $34,580 USD
- 100% remote
- Sick allowance: None. Sick days are unpaid
- Holiday allowance: None. No paid annual leave
- Any time off is unpaid. If you don't work, you don't get paid. Public holidays in your country of residence are not paid unless you work them and they fall within the agreed schedule
- Paid monthly, based on hours actually worked and logged
- You provide your own equipment, internet and power backup, and you're responsible for your own tax obligations in your country of residence

What We're Looking For
- Python & Scripting (core requirement): 2+ years hands-on Python, with strong practical use of requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium or Playwright, pandas and regex for web scraping and data processing
- Web scraping at scale: proven experience handling pagination, dynamic JavaScript content, anti-bot friction, retries, logging and rate limiting — ethically and within terms of service
- Data pipeline skills: comfortable cleaning, deduplicating, normalising and structuring messy data into CSV, JSON, SQL, Sheets or Airtable
- WhatsApp validation experience: familiarity with the WhatsApp Business API, wa.me link validation, or scripted bulk methods for confirming whether a number is active on WhatsApp. You must understand the ethical and platform-compliance boundaries
- Sponsor registry knowledge: able to locate and cross-reference official visa sponsor licence registries and corporate databases across multiple regions. You don't need to be an immigration expert — but you must be able to find, read and correctly interpret official sponsorship data
- OSINT & Boolean search: advanced open-source research skills for finding hard-to-reach contact information ethically
- Detective mindset: exceptional attention to detail. You notice a mismatched domain or an inconsistent corporate address from a mile away
- Tools: Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs), Excel, Git or version control for your scripts, and a CMS such as WordPress. WordPress data ingestion experience is a plus
- Communication: strong written English — you'll document scripts, verification notes and daily handovers for a remote team
- Reliability: consistent attendance during the Sweden-time window
- Infrastructure: a reliable laptop capable of running scraping workloads, plus stable high-speed internet with power backup
Nice to Have
- GitHub portfolio of scraping or data pipeline projects
- Experience with proxy rotation and headless browser automation
- Familiarity with visa sponsor registries in the UK, Canada or EU
- Prior work in recruitment, job boards or labour market data
