The role of the Global Data Team Manager is to ensure the successful management of master data Management, Quality and Governance across the entire TwiningsOvo global data landscape. This will be achieved via the implementation of the TwO global Master Data Governance strategy, forging strong relationships with all the stakeholders and day-to-day management of the global data team.
It’s critical that the data team deliver an impeccable service to the business, protecting the quality and integrity of master data, whilst ensuring that data maintenance service levels are met. As data SMEs and functional experts for the master data tools and platforms, the team must ensure that the data processes remain fit for purpose, operate efficiently, and are aligned to the global data model and standards as required
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance of master data across the entire data landscape (systems and BU’s) and that the highest levels of quality are maintained throughout.
- Ensure that master data changes are made in accordance with data standard and policies and via the global MDG platform.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and agree appropriate service levels are agreed and adhered to.
- Ensure that data issues are reported and managed in accordance with agreed processes and resolved in a timely fashion. A process of continuous improvement should be employed so ongoing repeat issues and data quality problems are eliminated.
- Implementation of master data reports to facilitate data quality investigations, metrics and initiatives.
- Ongoing review of data processes to seek out efficiency opportunities via automation and integration.
- Champion the Master Data forum, where ongoing, data quality, issue resolution, process performance and continuous improvement initiatives are actively managed with all functions around the business
- Day-to-day management of the team
- Provide support, coaching and development through 1:1’s and Thrive development plans.
- Ensure the team have functional knowledge about the MDG platform and data model across all systems for the data domain for which they are responsible.
- Provide first level support for simple MDG platform issues, bugs, and enhancements – including role creation and allocation to users.
- Overall responsibility for the management of the MDG global template across all BU’s and systems
- Ensure the data owners are clearly defined and ensure they understand the concepts of data ownership and their role within MDG.
- Work with the Global Process Owners on an ongoing basis and ensure the end-to-end MDG business processes are fit for purpose and meet requirements for data collection, compliance, and governance.
- Understand the requirements for system changes as a result of business process, compliance, organisational changes and translate into functional requirement change request for the relevant system.
- Work with the development teams to ensure new functional requirements are understood then delivered.
- Creation of proof-of-concepts either through wireframes or working development models for new MDG applications or functionality
- Work closely with the project to ensure the data team participate in MDG fit gap, where they will act as SME for the MDG apps for which they are responsible.
- Participate in testing of the new S4 system to ensure data setup processes are clearly understood and are fit for purpose, covering all data objects and scenarios.
- Ensure that the data model is documented, and a successful Knowledge Transfer delivered to the team as each Wave is deployed.
- Build new relationship with key stakeholders for the new BU’s as each Wave is deployed

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Master Data Governance role in any two of the OTC, MTD, R2R, B2B streams
- Experience with Master Data Management and Maintenance – SAP ECC, SAP MDM or S4 preferred.
- Experience overseeing the management of a global Master Data Governance solution.
- Understanding of Business Partners, Material Master, Contracts and Pricing Master data is essential.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience working for a multinational organisation and working with colleagues internationally and demonstrated mobility.
- Experience working in a team onshore and offshore and the coordination of a team of developers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience running forum with senior stakeholders to collaborate on a strategy of ways of working, issue resolution, continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to understand, explain and present technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and being able to bridge the gap between business users and development team.
- Experience with SAP ECC or S4 Master data management tools and process.
- Experience defining business process strategies.
- Experience with various automation techniques for the maintenance and upload of data
