Responsibilities
Team Introduction:
The Tax team works with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance with direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax (sales and use tax and property tax) and solve tax related issues.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a senior tax professional to support our rapidly growing E-commerce business in Europe and EEA countries. In this role, you will work closely with senior business leaders and global cross-functional teams to provide expert tax advice in regard to business solutions and translate complex tax concepts into clear actionable points. As a business partner, you will stay updated on key business initiatives and priorities so as to provide timely assistance to the business. You will work seamlessly with TikTok’s global tax teams and ensure that our tax solutions are compliant with prevailing tax regulations, technically sound and practical. The ideal candidate should have proven tax experience and track record in the EU and EEA region, especially relating to E-commerce platforms, digital platforms, and E-commerce fulfilment businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the business to develop and implement comprehensive tax solutions to support the objectives of our European operations, including providing tax advice on new product initiatives, markets, agreements, and operating models.
- Collaborate with in-house tax teams and coordinate external resources to develop actionable tax solutions for new e-commerce products, features and operational event.
- Take and respond to tax queries from business teams as Tax Point of Contact.
- Periodically review existing tax solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor changes and updates of tax legislation, identify the potential impact on business operations, and prepare teams for the challenge in advance.
- Support business teams to understand and comply with tax compliance requirements through trainings.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years tax experience covering EEA with focus on indirect taxes, preferably at an e-commerce or digital marketplace company, or at a large, reputable professional consulting firm.
- CPA/Chartered Accountant/Chartered Tax Adviser or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation skills in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to set appropriate priorities when multi-tasking, and deliver to a high standard at pace.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin are required, for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders based in English and Mandarin-speaking markets (where English proficiency may be limited).
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-house experience, preferably at an E-commerce or digital marketplace company.
