Our members are united by a distinctive set of values and come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. This diversity fosters the creativity that is Arup’s hallmark. Members join Arup to work with world-leading experts, grow through diverse opportunities and have the freedom to innovate. That combination continues to attract some of the world’s most talented consultants, engineers and designers.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Global Ethics & Compliance Director, this newly created role will support the day-to-day delivery of Arup’s global ethics and compliance framework. The Global Ethics & Compliance Manager will be the primary day-to-day global point of contact for managing key Ethics & Compliance processes, helping turn strategic direction, framework design and programme priorities into practical activity within an established global programme and in close partnership with regional Ethics & Compliance teams.

The Global Ethics & Compliance Director provides strategic oversight, the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance Operations is the key architect of the framework and operating model, and this role is the key day-to-day manager of core Ethics & Compliance processes. It will manage daily activity across areas such as Speak Up, gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, compliance risk assessment, monitoring and review, reporting and programme improvement, working with investigation, regional and functional teams to support effective delivery and escalation where required. As the framework matures, this role will work closely with the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance Operations on monitoring, review and continuous improvement, while remaining focused on day-to-day process management and delivery. Training and communications will be maintained through a separate global role, with this role working closely with that role and regional teams to support implementation where required.

Key Responsibilities

Process Delivery and Coordination

  • Support the day-to-day operation of agreed global ethics and compliance processes, including related policies, procedures, standards and controls.
  • Turn agreed programme priorities and process requirements into practical day-to-day plans, trackers, guidance, follow-up actions and improvement activity.
  • Coordinate defined ethics and compliance workstreams and initiatives, working with the Global Ethics & Compliance Director, the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance Operations and regional teams.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of core programme processes, including Speak Up, gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, due diligence, policy governance, reporting and management information, while working with the global training and communications role where process changes require member engagement or learning support.
  • Maintain effective process documentation, trackers, management information and evidence of delivery to support oversight, assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Help identify operational gaps, delivery risks and opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience and strengthen consistency across regions, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Prepare concise reporting, updates and management information for review by the Global Ethics & Compliance Director and relevant programme stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Legal, People, Procurement, Finance, Tax, HSEQ, Cyber/Data Privacy, Risk and Assurance and other relevant functions to support joined-up delivery and clear escalation routes.

Regional Coordination and Business Support

  • Work closely with regional Ethics & Compliance teams to support consistent implementation of global processes while recognising appropriate regional requirements, risks and ways of working.
  • Act as a practical point of coordination between global programme activity and regional delivery, helping ensure issues, feedback and lessons learned are captured and escalated where appropriate.
  • Provide practical guidance and operational support to members and stakeholders on ethics and compliance processes, standards, escalation routes and programme requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
