Global Field Service Engineer - Winder

Partner with the best
To carry out on-site inspection, testing and repair of the stator, rotor and exciter windings of large high voltage electric generators. As a Global Field Service Winding Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Performing wining inspections, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on HV generator windings on global customer sites.
- Carry out field service assignments globally in onshore & offshore environments
- Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and generator windings
- Carry out visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system.
- Carry out in-situ generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.
- Assisting mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve winding related activities.
- Carrying out basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to the generator windings.
- Working as part of a team for on-site HV stator strip and rewinding operations.
- Interpreting specifications, technical drawings and technical requirements.
- Generate detailed and concise daily reports for submission to customers or assigned project manager.
- Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises.
- Lead & work positively with customer supplied local international technicians.
- Carrying out Point of work risk assessments on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form provided.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have an accredited Electrical Engineering qualification or equal experience -a minimum, qualified through a recognized Craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.
- Have relevant years of HV winding experience working on Motors and Generators. Minimum of 8 year’s experience.
- Have knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of Health, Safety & Environment.
- Be Self-reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well-developed commercial awareness.
- Be an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Be flexible to travel and undertake extensive overseas and offshore working away approximately 29 weeks per annum.
- Have experience in dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating remotely on own initiative.
- Be a good team player with the ability to work independently
