Ready to shape global account propositions across cash management and liquidity?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

Global Payment Solutions (GPS) is a strategic growth area for HSBC, focused on building a client-centric digital cash management platform for wholesale clients. As Head of Account Solutions within the GPS Liquidity strategic value stream you’ll set global direction for a core product pillar - manufacturing current, savings and third-party money accounts and the value propositions around them. These capabilities sit at the heart of payments, liquidity and investment solutions and generate fee income across the globe. You’ll take end-to-end accountability for product management including performance management and investment prioritisation. The role also provides oversight of account servicing - including account opening, maintenance and closure - with a focus on client experience and operational risk. Success means clear product strategy execution, well-governed pricing and revenue outcomes, strong risk and control oversight and consistent commercialisation across markets and channels.

What you'll be doing

  • Shape and deliver the global product strategy for Account Solutions aligned to the Liquidity SVS strategy and Future State Architecture
  • Oversee product development and associated investment budget to deliver agreed outcomes and return on investment
  • Govern end-to-end product management activity including initiative delivery, performance monitoring and optimisation based on product MI
  • Own account pricing tariffs including value exchange oversight and annual certifications
  • Set and deliver pricing and revenue optimisation initiatives to balance profitability, operating costs and risk
  • Ensure pricing changes progress through the right governance forums and align to GPS Pricing Principles and Guidelines
  • Establish product governance as First Line of Defense including product risk identification, assessment and monitoring plus periodic reviews and approvals
  • Maintain the Global Product Inventory (GPI) and partner with risk stewards and service partners on trigger events and issues
  • Oversee account servicing processes and performance, using MI, OKRs and KPIs to guide Operations and CIB Servicing improvements
  • Coordinate global commercialisation across distribution and channels, marketing plans and product collateral including content on the Frontline Content Hub (FCH)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
