Global Head of Assurance
Salary: £73,964 per annum starting salary (London) / SEK 52,000–70,000 per month (Stockholm), with excellent benefits
Location: London, UK or Stockholm, Sweden
Working Arrangement: Hybrid in the UK, with a minimum of 40% of working time spent face-to-face
Contract: Permanent, full-time

Overview
Our client, an international non-profit organisation, is seeking a Global Head of Assurance to strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls across a complex global organisation.
You will develop and coordinate the global assurance framework, providing independent assurance and constructive challenge to senior management and the Board. The role spans internal audit, accreditation, enterprise risk management, fraud and financial crime, with significant scope to influence standards and improve organisational processes internationally.
Responsibilities
- Develop proportionate assurance frameworks with teams across multiple countries.
- Provide periodic assurance updates and an annual opinion on the effectiveness of internal controls, governance and risk management.
- Assess and strengthen audit and assurance arrangements across the international organisation.
- Develop a risk-informed audit plan for senior leadership and Board approval.
- Deliver accreditation processes and undertake regular and ad-hoc reviews.
- Support the development and embedding of organisation-wide risk management processes and good practice.
- Advise on cases involving fraud, bribery and other financial irregularities.
- Support fraud risk assessments, preventative and detective controls, and fraud awareness activity.

Requirements
- Qualified member of ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA, or an Internal Auditor qualification.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Global Internal Audit Standards and leading internal audit practices.
- Significant experience managing and developing audit and assurance functions.
- Experience working across different cultures.
- Practical experience of fraud investigations.
- Experience using Microsoft applications.
- Proven leadership capability, including creating clarity and purpose, adapting effectively, building accountability, encouraging collaboration and empowering others.

Desirable
- French, Portuguese or other relevant international language skills.
- Experience working for a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
- Experience working within an international organisation.
