We are currently searching for a Global Head of Digital Portfolio to lead Serco’s global digital and technology change portfolio. Reporting to the Group Director – Digital Governance & Portfolio, this is a senior Group role with responsibility for defining and operating the enterprise portfolio management model across the UK, Europe, North America, AsPac and the Middle East. This is a role with significant visibility and influence.
You will create the single source of truth for Serco’s digital investment portfolio, giving Group leaders a clear, data-driven view of programme performance, delivery risk, investment priorities and business value. The mandate is to bring structure, transparency and discipline to a complex global technology change agenda, ensuring Serco invests in the right things, at the right time, and delivers measurable value from every major programme.

- Own the Group-wide digital and technology portfolio management strategy, consolidating major initiatives into a single enterprise portfolio.
- Define and operate the portfolio management model, providing clear oversight of investment priorities, delivery performance, risk and benefits realisation.
- Lead prioritisation processes to ensure digital and technology investments align with Group strategy, divisional needs and enterprise standards.
- Govern delivery performance across the portfolio, monitoring milestones, risks, dependencies, outcomes and remedial actions.
- Operate the enterprise delivery assurance model for major technology initiatives, ensuring issues are surfaced early and managed effectively.
- Track and report on benefits realisation, ROI and business case performance across technology investments.
- Manage the global investment pipeline, balancing long-term transformation priorities with shorter-term business needs.
- Lead investment case governance, ensuring proposals are evidence-based, financially disciplined and aligned with Group standards.
- Present portfolio performance, risk posture and strategic alignment to senior executives, committees and boards.
- Partner with Divisions, Risk, Audit, Compliance, ESG and Digital teams to ensure portfolio reporting, controls and governance are robust and joined up.
- Embed a culture of accountability, transparency and value realisation across Serco Digital.

What you’ll need to do the role
- Significant experience in portfolio management, programme assurance, technology governance or digital transformation within a large, complex organisation.
- Experience operating across global, federated or matrixed structures, with the ability to influence across geographies, divisions and functions.
- Strong understanding of digital, cyber, data and technology delivery operating models.
- A track record of creating portfolio visibility, improving governance and bringing discipline to complex technology change environments.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness, including experience with investment cases, ROI tracking, benefits realisation and portfolio-level decision making.
- The ability to identify delivery risk, challenge performance constructively and ensure appropriate controls and interventions are in place.
- Confidence engaging at executive and board level, with the ability to translate complex portfolio information into clear, concise and actionable insight.
- Highly analytical, structured and data-driven, with strong written communication and reporting skills.
- Pragmatic, outcome-focused and emotionally intelligent, with the confidence to challenge clearly and accurately.
- Familiarity with regulatory, ESG, audit, risk or compliance requirements relevant to technology oversight would be advantageous.
