Global Head of Payroll
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £150,000 (negotiable DOE) plus equity
This is an opportunity to lead the global payroll function for a rapidly scaling, technology-driven organisation operating across multiple international markets. Supporting a diverse workforce of salaried and hourly paid employees, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll excellence whilst helping shape the infrastructure, systems and processes that underpin continued global growth.
Leading an established payroll team, you'll combine strategic leadership with operational expertise, driving compliance, automation and continuous improvement across a complex international payroll landscape. This role offers the opportunity to partner with senior leaders across Finance, People and Legal functions whilst influencing payroll technology, governance and transformation initiatives on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading end-to-end payroll operations across the UK, US and wider international locations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Managing, coaching and developing a global payroll team, creating scalable processes, controls and governance frameworks.
- Overseeing relationships with payroll providers, EOR partners and external vendors, ensuring service excellence and compliance.
- Partnering with HR, Finance and Legal teams to ensure accurate processing of payroll changes, benefits, equity transactions and employee lifecycle events.
- Driving payroll technology optimisation, reporting, automation and continuous improvement initiatives, including Workday and global payroll platforms.

Requirements
- Proven experience leading multinational payroll operations across the UK and US.
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, payroll taxation, controls and governance within complex international environments.
- Experience processing both salaried and hourly paid employee populations.
- Strong exposure to Workday and global payroll systems, with experience supporting payroll transformation or implementation projects.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing payroll teams across multiple regions.
