Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Procurement in Financial Services. As Head of Procurement Technology & AI, the successful candidate will design, build and drive a market-leading technology platform and frontier AI capability that transforms how Procurement works in FS, significantly improves the user experience and delivers measurable commercial, operational and compliance value.

Apex is looking for a builder, innovator and technology-minded Procurement leader who can connect strategy with execution. The role will scan the market for emerging tools, translate innovation into practical enterprise solutions and position Apex at the front of next-generation Procurement, AI and automation.

Role Mandate

  • Define and deliver the Procurement Technology and AI strategy, roadmap and investment agenda.
  • Select, implement and accelerate leading Procurement platform, integrations and supporting technologies.
  • Deploy advanced AI, automation and agentic capabilities across source-to-pay, supplier management, risk and data workflows.
  • Create simple, intuitive and high-adoption user experience for Procurement, business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Build strong partnerships with leading technology vendors, AI specialists, industry analysts and innovation networks.
  • Deliver clear business value through productivity gains, faster cycle times, stronger compliance, better insight and improved commercial outcomes.
  • Partner closely with IT, AI, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure secure, scalable and well-controlled solutions.
  • Continuously assess market innovation and emerging capability to keep Apex ahead of the curve.

Ideal Candidate

  • Deep, modern Procurement expertise, with strong understanding of source-to-pay processes, operating models and transformation levers.
  • Strong command of leading Procurement platforms, orchestration layering, AI-enabled solutions, workflow tools, data products and automation technologies.
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise technology transformation from strategy through adoption and measurable value delivery.
  • Confident working across data, analytics, AI, process design, governance and change adoption.
  • Commercially sharp, externally connected and credible with senior stakeholders, technology partners and Procurement teams.
  • Experience with Workday and Procurement platform integrations is desirable.
