Group Head of Sales

PE-backed parking and facilities services group

About our client

Our client is a fast-growing, private equity-backed company delivering car park management and soft facilities management across the UK. They partner with some of the UK's best-known retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, and transport brands and have built a strong reputation for outstanding customer service and right-first-time delivery.

Following consistent year-on-year EBITDA growth, the group has an ambitious five-year plan. Much of that growth will come from existing clients and from selling multiple group services into the same customers.

The role

We're looking for a hunter, as this role is about winning new clients: identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and converting organizations that do not currently trade with the group. Growth within existing clients sits with the Group Head of Client Relationships.

This is a newly created senior leadership role to establish, lead, and scale a group-wide sales and business development function across parking, soft FM, project management, and architecture. Reporting to the Group Chief Commercial Officer and working alongside the Group Head of Client Relationships, you will bring strategy, structure, and a scalable operating model to new customer acquisition, and build and lead a sales, bid, and business development team.

It is a Senior Leadership Team appointment sitting directly below the executive board, with the potential to progress towards broader group commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and deliver the group sales strategy, aligned to commercial objectives, operational capability, profitability, and long-term growth.
  • Establish the sales function as a credible, disciplined, and scalable group-wide capability.
  • Lead annual sales planning, growth targets, market priorities, and sector-specific business development.
  • Own the full new business pipeline from lead generation and qualification through to proposal, negotiation, award, and handover.
  • Develop structured, evidence-led prospecting, market mapping, site research, targeting, and opportunity qualification.
  • Ensure pipeline activity is accurately recorded, actively managed, and reported to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Lead strategic prospect engagement, including presentations, negotiations, and senior stakeholder meetings.
  • Support commercial decisions with insight into pricing, market positioning, competitor activity, and client requirements.
  • Ensure new opportunity growth is profitable and free of material operational, contractual, or commercial risk.
  • Establish sales governance and performance review, monitoring win rate, conversion, bid quality, and margin.
  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage the Group Bids and Tenders Manager, Sales Site Researcher, and future business development roles.
  • Act as the central coordination point for all strategic new business bid activity across the group.
  • Partner with Strategy & Innovation on commercializing new products, services, and propositions.
  • Partner with Client Relationships and Operations on qualification and handover, strengthening the transition from sales to mobilisation to business as usual.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
