Role Mission
You are Valiantys’ global owner of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Developer Experience (DevEx) practice. Your mandate is to drive the professional services business capability in this space - from market positioning and thought leadership through to the creation of unique, high-value offerings and the systematic uplift of regional delivery quality. You don't just understand SDLC and DevEx: you know how to build a growing, profitable practice around them.
Operating as part of the global Solutions leadership team, you will translate Valiantys’ deep Atlassian and DevOps expertise combined with AI agentic capability to merge into packaged, sellable solutions - and then drive their adoption across EMEA, NoAM, and APAC. You will work hand in glove with Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, and Managed Services, bringing the commercial acuity and executive gravitas to turn domain expertise into scalable business growth.
This role is central to Valiantys’ ambition to become the leading AI Enterprise Orchestrator. You will help organizations connect people, processes, platforms, and AI agents across the software delivery lifecycle. You will shape the solutions and capabilities that support this vision, playing a key role in achieving our target in Next Generation revenue by 2027 while driving innovation, growth, and customer value at a global scale.
Location
Global - North America (East Coast) preferred, UK or France will be considered
Team & Organization Structure
You will build and lead a network of regional SDLC/DevEx Practice Leads across EMEA, NoAM, and APAC. Working closely with senior regional team members and regional field marketing, you will drive a global change programme that systematically uplifts practice standards, delivery quality, and asset reuse.
This is a builder role. You are defining the offering catalogue, creating the IP, establishing delivery standards, and developing the practitioner community that will determine how Valiantys competes and wins in this space for the next decade.
You will elevate peers throughout the Solutions & Product team and the broader company through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and the quality of the assets you create.
Core Pillars of This Practice
You will define, package, and drive growth across the following SDLC/DevEx solution domains:
- DevOps & CI/CD Modernization: Help enterprise clients design and implement modern delivery pipelines - from code to production - leveraging Atlassian’s toolchain (Jira Software, Bitbucket, Compass) and adjacent DevOps platforms to accelerate velocity and reduce release risk.
- Developer Experience (DevEx) Optimization: Reduce cognitive load and improve developer flow through toolchain consolidation, developer portal design, and workflow automation - turning fragmented engineering environments into coherent, high-performing systems.
- Agentic AI in Software Development: Embed the latest AI innovations into client engineering workflows - from AI-assisted code generation, automated review, and intelligent test generation through to agentic sprint planning and predictive defect management. You stay on the leading edge of what AI can do for software delivery and translate that into concrete, deliverable services.
- SDLC Governance & Standardization: Establish consistent development practices, branching strategies, quality gates, and compliance frameworks across complex, multi-team engineering organizations that need structure without sacrificing speed.
What You Will Own (Key Responsibilities)
- IP Generation & Offering Portfolio: Lead the creation of unique, market-differentiated SDLC/DevEx product offerings - involving field consulting and development resource - from early concept through to packaged, go-to-market ready solutions. You build the IP that gives Valiantys a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Productization of Delivery Experience: Package Valiantys’ accumulated regional SDLC related project experience into repeatable, fixed-scope Solution Blueprints with defined scopes, effort models, and delivery playbooks. Every blueprint shortens the sales cycle, reduces delivery risk, and improves gross margin.
- Asset Uplift for Customer Value & Reuse: Drive the systematic development and uplift of the SDLC/DevEx asset base - accelerators, templates, reference architectures, and toolkits - to deliver measurably higher impact for clients, reduce rework across regions, and raise the quality ceiling on every engagement.
- Sales, Marketing & Commercial Enablement: Arm regional sales and field marketing teams with compelling solution narratives, qualification frameworks, and demo assets. Act as the global subject matter authority on SDLC/DevEx in enterprise pursuits and executive client conversations. Engage directly with Managed Services and Marketing to ensure the practice is visible, differentiated, and commercially positioned for growth.
- Executive Thought Leadership & Customer Engagement: Act as a senior thought leader when engaging with customers - positioning strategy, articulating the business improvement case, and communicating the technical and commercial benefits of the innovations Valiantys is proposing. You have the executive gravitas to be credible and compelling at CTO, VP Engineering, and CISO level.
- Global Practice Uplift & Regional Enablement: Lead the global change programme to uplift SDLC/DevEx practice standards across all regions. Work closely with senior team members and regional Practice Leads to drive adoption of global standards, close capability gaps, and embed a culture of continuous improvement in how the practice operates.
- Practitioner Development & Knowledge Management: Build the SDLC/DevEx capability of Valiantys’ practitioner community through certifications, structured enablement, and a living knowledge base. You uplift peers within the Solutions & Product team and the broader company - not just those who report to you.
- SDLC/DevEx Business Plan Ownership: Work with the Head of Solutions and senior internal stakeholders to develop and execute the SDLC/DevEx business plan. You have the gravitas and commercial fluency to operate at the executive table internally - forming strategy, making the investment case, and holding the organization accountable for delivering it.
- Discovery, Gap Analysis & SDLC Vision: Work closely with field consulting to lead structured gap analysis and business needs discovery for SDLC modernization engagements. You have the technical depth to identify what is broken or missing, the consulting discipline to capture it rigorously, and the leadership skill to synthesise findings into a compelling, client-facing SDLC modernization vision. You bring others on this journey - clients, practitioners, and regional teams - making the destination feel achievable and the path credible.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a leader who combines genuine technical depth in the SDLC/DevEx domain with the commercial sharpness, executive presence, and collaborative drive to build a world-class global practice around it.
- Technically Astute in SDLC/DevEx: You have hands-on experience with the full SDLC/DevEx landscape - CI/CD, branching strategies, developer portals, toolchain integration, software quality engineering. You are credible in technical conversations at depth. But more importantly, you know how to translate that expertise into professional services growth: structured offerings, defensible IP, and delivery approaches that scale.
- AI-Fluent & Innovation-Led: You are skilled in AI and the latest innovations transforming software development - from agentic coding assistants and AI-powered testing to automated code review and intelligent delivery analytics. You follow the frontier, understand what is production-ready versus experimental, and know how to bring it to market as a service that creates real client value.
- Executive Gravitas: You operate comfortably with senior executives - internally in forming and executing the SDLC/DevEx business plan, and externally when positioning strategy and business improvement with C-suite and VP-level client stakeholders. You bring both the confidence and the substance to be taken seriously at that level.
- Commercial Acuity & Global Business Drive: You are commercially astute with a track record of driving business growth across global markets. You understand gross margin, utilization, and revenue-per-offering, and you engage naturally with Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, and Managed Services to align the full commercial engine around what you are building.
- Skilled Collaborator & Team Uplift: You are a team player who raises the capability of those around you - peers in the Solutions & Product team, regional Practice Leads, field marketing counterparts, and the broader company. You know how to share what you know in ways that stick, and you treat the elevation of others as a core part of your mandate.
- Builder of Practices & Products: You have a track record of leading the creation of unique service offerings that involved bringing together field consulting expertise and technical development resource. You know what it takes to go from “we are good at this” to “we have a product we can sell and deliver at scale.”
- Global Change Leader: You have the organizational influence and interpersonal sophistication to lead change across distributed, multi-region organizations. Working through regional Practice Leads, senior team members, and field marketing, you drive uplift in standards and practices without creating resistance.
- Atlassian Ecosystem Expert: You are well versed in the Atlassian ecosystem and how it can be leveraged to modernise SDLC - including deep knowledge of the Software Collection and how its constituent products work together to transform the way enterprise engineering teams plan, build, and ship. You understand not just what the tools do, but how to position and implement them as part of a coherent modernization strategy.
- Discovery-Led Vision Builder: You know how to move from assessment to vision. Working alongside field consulting, you lead gap analysis and business needs capture with the rigour of a consultant and the ambition of a transformation leader - translating what you find into a SDLC modernization roadmap that gets stakeholder buy-in and sets the foundation for a lasting client relationship.
