About Humanoid

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND-01 Alpha - our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Head of Tax to own Humanoid's worldwide tax strategy, structure, and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, you will design a tax-efficient global operating structure, manage direct and indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions, own the cross-border movement of hardware through customs and tariffs, and ensure the group is well-positioned for its next stages of growth — including a potential IPO.

This is a hands-on, build-from-the-ground-up leadership role spanning Canada, the UK, the USA, Germany, and the Middle East. You will operate as both architect and operator — setting global tax strategy one day and reviewing a VAT return, an R&D credit claim, or an SPV structure the next. You will partner closely with the CFO, Treasurer, legal, finance, and external advisors.

What You'll Do

Global Tax Strategy & Structure

  • Design and manage the group's multi-entity global structure, including the setup and ongoing management of SPVs, joint ventures (JVs), and holding entities across Canada, the UK, the USA, Germany, and the Middle East.
  • Advise on the tax implications of equity, employee incentive plans, financing, and corporate transactions, working closely with the CFO and Treasurer.
  • Build a tax-efficient, defensible operating model that scales with international expansion and new entity setups.

Direct Taxes & Transfer Pricing

  • Own corporate income tax and other direct taxes across all jurisdictions, including planning, provisioning, and effective-tax-rate management.
  • Establish and maintain transfer-pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and documentation appropriate to a multi-entity group.
  • Manage tax residency, permanent-establishment, and cross-border structuring risks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Indirect Tax, Customs & Tariffs

  • Own indirect taxes — VAT (UK/EU), GST, and US sales & use tax — including registrations, compliance, and recovery across jurisdictions.
  • Manage customs, duties, and tariffs on the cross-border movement of robots, components, and equipment — a critical function for a hardware business shipping globally.
  • Advise on trade classification, origin, and duty-mitigation strategies in partnership with operations and supply chain.

R&D Credits & Incentives

  • Identify, claim, and optimise R&D tax credits and innovation incentives across relevant jurisdictions (e.g. UK, USA, Canada), maximising cash and P&L benefit.
  • Track and access government grants, capital allowances, and other tax incentives relevant to robotics and advanced manufacturing.

Compliance & Filings

  • Own the global tax compliance calendar and annual filings, including corporate, indirect, and state & local returns across all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax accounting and disclosures, and manage tax audits, inquiries, and relationships with tax authorities.
  • Build scalable processes, controls, and technology to support compliance as the group grows.

IPO Readiness & Corporate Transactions

  • Lead tax workstreams for corporate transactions, including SPACs, IPO/public-market readiness, fundraising, and M&A.
  • Ensure tax structuring, governance, and disclosures meet the standards required of a public company.
  • Support diligence processes and advise the Board and executive team on material tax matters.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Extensive tax experience in-house and/or in practice, with a track record of leading tax across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-entity structures, SPVs, JVs, and SPACs, and their tax and compliance implications.
  • Deep expertise across direct taxes, indirect tax (VAT & sales/use tax), customs, tariffs, and transfer pricing.
  • Hands-on experience with R&D credits and innovation incentives, and with annual filings including state & local.
  • Experience supporting the tax implications of equity and employee incentive plans.
  • Both IPO/public-company and startup/scale-up experience — comfortable operating with public-company rigour and startup pace.
  • Exposure to some or all of Humanoid's core jurisdictions: Canada, the UK, the USA, Germany, and the Middle East.
  • A builder's mindset — able to stand up a global tax function with limited infrastructure in a fast-moving environment.
