Overview

The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is neutral politically, and non-denominational, aim to empower youth worldwide.

The core function of the IYF Executive Office is to provide the support services needed to enable the IYF Senior Management Team (SMT) to perform their leadership roles effectively. The IYFEO tasked with the responsibility to provide policy and programmatic support to IYF´s activities across HQ Bureuax and Regional Administrations.

The IYF Department of Smart and Digital Infrastructure is a pioneering organization at the forefront of revolutionizing global connectivity and technological advancement. Aimed at improving engagement, operational efficiency and connecting young leaders around the world, DSDI is committed to building a smarter and more efficient platforms, harnesses cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to transform traditional infrastructure into interconnected digital ecosystems.

Under the direct supervision of Chief Digital Officer, the Global ICT Manager will manage enterprise-wide networks, data centers, and cloud environments spanning multiple international locations. You will be responsible for ensuring that IT issues are consolidated, analysed and dealt with in a comprehensive manner with a focus on strengthening business processes, responsible for developing IT solutions (integrating business solutions, fostering efficiencies and knowledge sharing) and undertaking the required capacity building of staff and users as well as promoting an IT development agenda.

Mission Statement

To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for a better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

Responsibilities

  • Full compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures for the IT technology environment;
  • Provision of support to the use of PMS (Project Management System) functionality for improved business results and improved client services; extend PMS functionality as per the business requirements and configure, administer and manage the platform;
  • Analysis of the business requirements and development of pragmatic solutions using available resources;
  • Conducts research and analysis of user needs in different region with specific attention to issues of connectivity within IYF Country Teams;
  • Elaborates internal policies and procedures on the use of ICT systems and platforms;
  • Ensures full compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures;
  • Liaises with the Bureau of Management (BOM) on technological issues including upgrades, system backup functions, adopting and configuring new software and hardware standards;
  • Arranges user training so that users can optimally use ICT resources and standard corporate packages;
  • Ensures adequate usage of the IYF Content Management System for knowledge sharing and management;
  • Create, manage and maintain internal policies and procedures on the use of IT;
  • Oversee the Content Management System, and monitors publication of new materials on the portal, removing outdated/irrelevant materials, migrates existing documents and applications and updates links in the Document Repository;
  • Ensures the successful implementation of specific ICT projects on an on-demand basis from HQ; and
  • Perform other work-related duties as may be required.

Functional Competencies

  • Ability to assist in strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
  • Ability to assist in corporate strategic initiatives
  • Excellent computer, internet, social media and information system skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

Experience

Proven experience within information and communication management, ICT infrastructure, programme development, implementation and coordination. Experience in database development, systems management, internet/intranet systems, IT training. Solid ICT and information management strategies knowledge; proficiency in relevant hardware and software platforms and packages is desirable. Knowledge in cyber security is highly preferred. Ideally experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), ERP systems, global networking (WAN/LAN), and security policies. Experience of working within the NGO / NFP sector is preferred. Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.
