The Role: Global Indirect Tax Manager
Purpose of the Role -reporting to the Global Indirect Tax Director- 스페인 기반 Non-EMEA taxation (e.g., VAT, GST, US sales tax, IPT) to ensure full compliance, efficient workflows, and strategic indirect tax guidance to business units. -Key client advisory and process optimisation for non-EMEA registrations and audit responses.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Governance
- Analyse legislative changes and identify indirect tax risks in non-EMEA jurisdictions.
- Develop and enhance the Global Indirect Tax RACM (Risk & Control Matrix) with a focus on non-EMEA tax controls.
- Oversee documentation and workflows for international tax registrations, returns, and audits.

Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Manage compliance for non-EMEA taxes (VAT, GST, US sales tax, IPT) and maintain tax provisions.
- Oversee VAT return cycles across regions, including data reconciliation with finance teams.
- Work closely with ERP and data teams to ensure provision accuracy and cash flow forecasting.
Advisory & Business Partnering
- Partner with finance/commercial teams to provide commercial tax advice on contracts and agreements.
- First point of contact for tax-related contract reviews and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with the Insurance Group’s Indirect Tax Manager on IPT and risk mitigation.
Technology & Automation
- Optimise automation tools (Vertex, AI, Loctax) for non-EMEA tax calculations, registrations, and report submission.
- Embed indirect tax requirements into ERP/billing systems.
Projects & Transformation
- Conduct deep-dive health checks on non-EMEA VAT/IPT processes.
- Assist with cross-region expansion (e.g., JP consumption tax).
Regional Responsibilities
- EMEA: Support existing regional registrations in collaboration with the EMEA team. Americas: Handle sales tax filings, disclosures, registrations, and audits. APAC: Assist with Japanese consumption tax and new markets.

Essential Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
- 6+ years in indirect tax with experience across multiple jurisdictions (VAT/GST/US sales tax/IPT recommended).
- Preference given for direct experience in general insurance (partial exemption, IPT tax templates, and commercial team liaison).
- Strong ERP/accounting system background for cross-team transactional correction.
- Skilled in technologies: Vertex; basic AI/automation tools.
- Commercial awareness to bridge tax risks and business unit strategies.
