About the role
The Global Internal Communications Team leads the development and successful delivery of Haleon’s company-wide internal communication strategy. Driving communications at a global level and supporting the Executive Team and senior leaders across the organisation, the team plays a key role in building colleague understanding and engagement with Haleon’s ambitions, priorities, leadership, and culture.
The Enterprise Transformation Programme is a multi-year journey focused on transforming the Haleon business. Enabled by SAP S/4HANA, it aims to build an organisation that is Wired for Excellence and deliver our Win as One Strategy. The programme will strengthen the heartbeat of our business, enabling Haleon to become more agile, efficient, and innovative while positioning the company for future growth through continuous improvement.
This role plays a critical part in making that ambition a reality.
This is a senior role within the Global Internal Communications Team, responsible for supporting the Global Head of Internal Communications in the development and delivery of the communications and engagement strategy for the Enterprise Transformation Programme.
As a senior partner to the central programme team and programme leadership, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of internal communications and engagement activity across the programme. It will play a critical role in ensuring colleagues understand the vision, purpose, progress, and impact of the transformation while driving engagement, confidence and embedding new ways of working across the organisation.
The role will act as a senior communications partner to programme stakeholders, providing strategic counsel on narrative, messaging, communications planning, leadership engagement, and employee communications while ensuring communications activities are aligned, effectively delivered, and executed to a consistently high standard.
This role requires someone who is confident working with senior stakeholders, is an effective strategy partner and can balance strategic thinking with high-quality execution. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a complex, global transformation environment.

Role and responsibilities
Communications & engagement
- Support the Global Head of Internal Communications in developing and delivering an integrated communications and engagement strategy for the Enterprise Transformation Programme, aligned with transformation milestones, business priorities and Haleon’s Win as One Strategy.
- Lead the day-to-day, coordination and delivery of communications and engagement activity across the key programme activities including programme mobilisation, design, readiness, deployment, and adoption phases.
- Act as a senior communications partner to Enterprise Transformation leadership and programme stakeholders, providing clear and constructive counsel on communications planning, narrative, audiences, messages, channels, sequencing, and engagement.
- Lead on the creation and maintenance of a compelling programme narrative and messaging framework that help colleagues understand the purpose, progress, and impact of the transformation.
- Build strong relationships and develop a detailed understanding of the programme’s strategy, roadmap, workstreams, milestones and priorities, identifying upcoming communications requirements and anticipating key moments.
- Translate complex programme, business, process, data, and technology information into clear, relevant, and accessible communications for colleagues across Haleon.
- Ensure communications plans are informed by audience needs and reflect the different experiences, information requirements, and levels of impact across functions, operating units, markets, sites, and colleague groups.
- Support programme leaders and senior stakeholders to communicate clearly and confidently about the transformation, including through leadership meetings, townhalls, employee events, function and operating-unit engagement, manager cascades, and programme updates.
- Provide strategic communications counsel and constructive challenge to programme stakeholders, helping to simplify complex information, improve communication approaches and focus activity on the needs of the audience.
- Partner with Change Management colleagues to ensure communications and engagement activity is aligned with the programme’s change, business readiness. Learning and adoption plans.
- Use outputs from stakeholder analysis, change-impact assessment, readiness activity, and employee feedback to inform communication priorities, audience planning, and messaging.
- Identify communications risks, emerging themes, and feedback, recommending actions that improve colleague understanding and engagement.
- Work in partnership with colleagues across Global Internal Communications and the wider Corporate Affairs function to ensure a co-ordinated and joined-up approach to enterprise, functional and programme communications.
- Ensure robust measurement and evaluation of programme communications effectiveness through engagement metrics, feedback, and insights, using findings to continuously improve activity and outcomes.

Storytelling & content
- Drive colleague engagement through impactful, audience-led storytelling that brings the Enterprise Transformation Programme to life.
- Develop communications that connect the transformation to Haleon’s Win as One Strategy, business priorities, culture, colleague experience, and long-term growth ambitions.
- Turn complex programme, process, technology and business information into engagement and accessible content. Developing high-quality internal communications content including announcements, articles, presentations, FAQs, leadership communications, briefing materials, and campaign assets.
- Identify and develop employee stories that demonstrate transformation progress, business benefits, collaboration, innovation, and new ways of working.
- Support development of multimedia content including video, infographics, and digital communications assets.
- Provide editorial guidance, review and quality assurance for communications produced by the programme, workstreams and agency partners.
- Ensure communications are tailored appropriately for different audience groups and stakeholder needs.
- Partner with External Communications colleagues to identify transformation stories that may have external relevance and support appropriate amplification, while maintaining consistency between internal and external messaging and context.
Channels
- Work in close partnership with other members of the Global Internal Communications Team responsible for global internal channels to ensure fully integrated and aligned approach.
- Manage the use of internal communications channels for transformation content, ensuring output is timely, accurate, and well-presented.
- Follow established channel strategies, templates and governance and support continuous improvement by sharing feedback and insight on channel effectiveness.
- Adapt communications and content for different channels and formats as required.

Collaboration and team contribution
- Work closely with the Global Head of Internal Communications and wider Global Internal Communications Team to ensure a consistent approach.
- Contribute to shared tools, templates, and ways of working – not only across Global Internal Communications but the wider Global Communications Team and Corporate Affairs Function.
- Support a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Essential experience
- Senior-level experience in internal communications, employee engagement, and strategic communications.
- Experience supporting large-scale, complex transformation programmes, organisational change, or business-critical initiatives, including communications that drive understanding, engagement, and adoption.
- Proven experience partnering with business leaders and stakeholders to provide strategic communications counsel.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demands.
- Proven experience developing and delivering internal communications and engagement strategies aligned to business priorities including robust measurement.
- Demonstrable experience translating complex business, operational and commercial topics into clear, engaging communications for diverse audiences.
- Strong understand of transformation communications and how communications support leadership alignment, colleague understanding, business readiness, and the adoption of new ways of working.
- Strong verbal and written and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and effective content across a range of formats.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with a proven ability to operate in an advisory capacity with all levels to achieve good outcomes and influence effectively across a matrix organisation.
- Strong planning and project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience using communications data, colleague feedback, and insights to measure effectiveness and continuously improve communications activity and outcomes.
- Excellent judgement, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage complex issues.
- A positive, proactive and collaborative approach, with a commitment to team development and high-quality delivery.
Desirable experience
- Experience working in a global/consumer/FTSE 100 organisation.
- Experience on large-scale business transformation programmes, ideally SAP S/4HANA implementations within a global FMCG, consumer healthcare or FTSE 100 organisation.
- Experience of global-facing role in a matrix organisation desirable.
- Familiarity with enterprise transformation, technology, or process-change programmes.
- Experience supporting communications associated with new ways of working, adoption, and business readiness activities.
- Familiarity with internal communications channels and tools.
