BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation—inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.
To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.
What You'll Do
To realise BCG’s digital transformation ambitions, we are evolving the Digital Workplace to deliver an intelligent, AI-enabled employee experience that improves productivity, simplifies how work gets done, and creates sustainable cost advantage.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Digital Workplace Experience (DWE), this Executive Director will lead a significant portfolio within DWE, with accountability for defining strategy, accelerating transformation, and delivering measurable business outcomes across assigned products, services, and enabling capabilities.
Rather than acting as a functional leader for a single discipline, this role will bring together multiple complementary capabilities to create an integrated employee experience.
As a member of the extended Global IT Leadership Team, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Enterprise Technology leaders to accelerate innovation, improve operational performance, and embed AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making across the Digital Workplace.
Portfolio Scope
The Executive Director will lead a strategically significant portfolio within DWE, accountable for business outcomes across a combination of product, service, and enabling capabilities.
Product Portfolios
- Digital Collaboration: Enterprise collaboration platforms, meeting technologies, team productivity tools, and GenAI capabilities that enable seamless work across global teams.
- Personal Productivity: End-to-end device strategy, including laptops, mobile technologies, and next-generation productivity capabilities that empower individual effectiveness.
Service Delivery
- Workplace Technology: Office connectivity, hybrid meeting room technology, and the digital workplace infrastructure that powers how BCGers work across office environments.
- Meetings & Events: Virtual and in-person meeting experiences, together with the technology platforms that enable firm events and collaboration at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Strategic Leadership
- Deliver a step change in employee productivity while continuously improving the economics of the Digital Workplace through AI, automation, platform simplification, and operating model transformation.
- Own portfolio investment decisions and performance, balancing employee experience, productivity, resilience, and cost-to-serve through data-driven prioritization and commercial decision-making.
- Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for assigned Digital Workplace portfolios, ensuring alignment with the broader DWE vision and enterprise priorities.
- Establish measurable business outcomes that improve employee experience, operational excellence, productivity, and long-term value for the firm.
- Define and execute the AI strategy across the assigned portfolio, embedding Generative AI, intelligent agents, automation, and predictive capabilities into products, services, and operations to fundamentally transform how work is delivered and value is created.
- Build and lead a high-performing portfolio of products, services, and enabling capabilities, integrating best-in-class technology, user experience, data, innovation, and strategic change to deliver differentiated business outcomes.
- Lead the evolution of operational capabilities within the assigned portfolio, improving service quality, operational resilience, and employee experience through AI-enabled service management, automation, and data-driven operations.
- Partner with Executive Leadership, Product, Engineering, and Enterprise Technology leaders to ensure Digital Workplace investments deliver measurable business value and remain aligned to the firm’s strategic priorities.
- Shape the future direction of the Digital Workplace by identifying emerging technology opportunities, evolving operating models, and influencing enterprise investment decisions that position BCG at the forefront of digital employee experience.
- Provide strategic leadership in partnership with Centre of Excellence Leaders (Data & Analytics, User Experience, Change Management, and Agile Delivery).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
