Job Summary
This leadership role will focus on leading testing of new and current materials to provide a better understanding of attributes and efficacy of the product line. You will be responsible for creating new test protocols and generating data relating to sensory, product performance, and value-add attributes. You will support R&D initiatives to improve speed to market through effective product evaluation. This role is key in understanding and communicating product value, driving growth and revenue opportunities in the personal care market.
Responsibilities
- You lead a global team to generate new data, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability, and providing direction to achieve business objectives.
- You provide guidance and technical direction on project briefs and oversee the experimental process, ensuring we meet quality and performance standards.
- You participate in experimentation on the bench with conventional and/or non-conventional/creative approaches that will lead to unique product claims and benefits.
- You lead multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver successful outcomes.
- You manage external collaborations to deliver timely and meaningful results.

What will it take
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced understanding of personal care product evaluation methodologies
- Intermediate knowledge of technical writing
- Intermediate knowledge of statistical interpretation
- Intermediate knowledge of personal care industry key market trends
Requirements
- Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in a life science.
- Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in personal care formulation and/or product testing, 3+ years in management.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a strong capability for presentation creation, and project management software.
- Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English.
- Working arrangements: Hybrid working arrangements possible. To be discussed.
- Traveling required: Trade shows, customer and global lab visits as required.
- Right to work: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application and throughout their employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
