Global Marketing Lead for Bakery, Pastry & Biscuits
About the Role
As the Global Marketing Lead for Bakery, Pastry & Biscuits, you will drive the global growth strategy across key segments:
- Food Manufacturers
- Retailers
- Global Accounts
- Chains
- Gourmet customers
Your focus is primarily on Food Manufacturers and Retailers, collaborating closely with:
- Portfolio
- Innovation
- Callebaut Academy
- Digital
- Commercial teams
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deploy scalable customer solutions, global campaigns, and growth initiatives to enhance Barry Callebaut’s position in the BAPA segment.
- Work in a blend of strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on execution.
- Temporary maternity cover contract (temporarily replacing a colleague on leave).
Location & Travel
- Based in Western Europe or Central & Eastern Europe.
- Approximately 20% travel.
Core Responsibilities
Campaign & Growth Strategy
- Lead the Bakery & Pastry global campaign, focusing on priority regions and local markets.
- Align key stakeholders across:
- Marketing
- Sales
- Consumer & Market Insights
- R&D
- Chefs’ teams
- Commercial operations
Operations & Execution
- Create inspiring concepts, activation platforms, and toolkits scalable across diverse markets.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget execution with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Partner with Portfolio & Innovation teams to develop end-to-end segment solutions and value propositions.
- Translate customer, consumer, and market insights into campaigns, applications, and commercial opportunities.

Portfolio & Innovation
- Drive solution-selling through portfolio storytelling and innovation deployment.
- Support execution of global BAPA & Biscuits growth strategy.
- Collaborate with Digital teams to maximize scalability and reach.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Partner with Business Development to realize strategies in markets.
- Build and lead a cross-functional community of segment experts.
- Foster knowledge-sharing across regions, including:
- Best practices
- Campaign learnings
- Segment insights
Customer Experience & Innovation
- Act as an ambassador for the Global Customer Experience Centre of Excellence.
- Work with Callebaut Academy to enhance customer engagement.
- Collaborate with Innovation teams to identify portfolio gaps and growth opportunities.
- Influence the innovation pipeline through market and customer insights.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide expert support to internal and external stakeholders on:
- Segment trends
- Recommendations
- Growth strategies
About You
Education & Background
- Master’s degree in:
- Business
- Economics
- Food Engineering (or a related discipline)

Experience
Marketing Expertise
- Minimum 6 years of marketing experience in:
- B2B or B2C settings (Focusing preferably on Food & Beverage)
Global & Cross-functional Skills
- Experience in global, regional, or local marketing roles.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management abilities.
Functional Expertise
- Deep understanding of:
- Food Manufacturers
- Retailers
- Private-label businesses
Industry & Collaborative Flair
- Comfortable in multicultural and international environments.
- Ability to translate consumer and market trends into actionable and inspiring campaigns.
- Commercial acumen paired with strong analytical skills.
Language & soft skills
- Fluent in English.
- Additional languages are a +.
