Role Overview
This role will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that day-to-day network operations run smoothly across the regions. This will include monitoring the environment, responding to incidents and problems as they arise, and performing preventative maintenance where necessary.
Day-to-day activities will include responding to requests to perform changes and maintenance to the network in line with global standards. It will also include working towards our future network strategy, including process automation, standardisation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
This role will work closely with other regional and global resources. The role will act as an escalation point from the NOC team and incorporate project implementation and design work in collaboration with the network engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot network performance and technical issues, and resolve quickly to minimize downtime
- Technical Escalation: Act as the escalation point for network incidents from the first-line NOC team
- Technical Standards: Carry out network updates and configurations following global standards and standard IT procedures
- Configuration Management: Complete audits of existing configuration to ensure it meets global standards, and plan remediations where necessary
- Device Security: Plan and complete patching of network hardware to the latest versions to ensure device security
- Equipment Deployment: Contribute to the design of new branch implementations, and complete the remote configuration of devices. Provide remote assistance to the on-site employee during installation and patching
- Project Deployment: Implement the design configurations provided by the engineering teams for new solutions
- Zero Hit Rule Management: Analyse traffic logs and hit counters to execute zero-hit rule deprecation, following change control procedures to disable and remove inactive rules safely

- NSX Microsegmentation
- Cloud Networking

Infrastructure as Code: Has operational experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code and version control, using products such as Terraform and BitBucket to apply configuration changes

Other Technologies: Has experience with other technologies used within networking, specifically around Proxy servers, DHCP, and DNS

- Scripting & Automation: Able to look at opportunities for automating and scripting repetitive processes via coding and AI tools

Desirable but Not Essential Qualifications
- ITIL® Foundation in IT Service Management
- CCNA, or equivalent from another vendor (CompTIA Network+, ASCA, etc.)
