Background

Academic Services, led by the Director of Academic Services is responsible for leading and delivering professional, responsive, and effective academic and student administration across City St George’s. Working closely to the strategic direction set by the Vice-President for Education, Academic Services supports the educational mission of the University.

Responsibilities

The Global Opportunities Officer supports the effective delivery of the University’s outbound student and staff mobility portfolio. The postholder has primary responsibility for School liaison, promotion, partnership coordination and the outbound student experience.

The role coordinates student and staff engagement and support throughout the mobility lifecycle as appropriate, from initial promotion and application through to selection, pre-departure, participation and return. The postholder provides clear guidance, supports student wellbeing, coordinates safeguarding and travel-risk processes, and ensures that emerging concerns, incidents and emergencies are escalated appropriately.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of global opportunities, student mobility or international programmes, and experience supporting programme coordination or delivery of processes. They will have the ability to deliver a high-quality, student-focused service, manage multiple competing priorities, and build effective working relations with students, academic departments, professional-services teams and international partners.
