Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Global Packaging Lead to join our organisation based in either Bath, Leeds, or Manchester.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of our global packaging operations, driving innovation, sustainability, and cost efficiency across our international supply chain. You will lead a talented team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop and implement packaging strategies that align with our organizational goals and market demands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive global packaging strategies that support business objectives and drive competitive advantage
  • Ensure compliance with international packaging regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements across all markets
  • Analyse packaging performance metrics and identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and process optimization
  • Oversee packaging design, material selection, and testing protocols to ensure quality, durability, and sustainability standards are met
  • Manage relationships with packaging suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality materials
  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and supply chain teams to align packaging solutions with product requirements and brand positioning
  • Drive sustainability initiatives by evaluating eco-friendly packaging alternatives and reducing environmental impact
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain competitive positioning in packaging innovation
  • Prepare and present regular reports on packaging performance, budgets, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership

  • Demonstrable professional experience in packaging, supply chain management, or related operations field
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a matrix or global environment
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes, design principles, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of international packaging regulations, compliance standards, and quality assurance protocols
