Description

The Global Partner Activation Manager is part of AFC Bournemouth’s commercial team and provides crucial support managing and growing relationships with sponsors and partners. The Manager will support the Head of Global Partner Activation and the wider team to ensure contractual sponsorship elements are fulfilled and executed efficiently for a varied list of business partners.

The role holder will act as a senior point of contact within the team and help generate commercial revenue by assisting with contract renewal/refreshing, and opportunistically upselling to their assigned partners, identifying new business opportunities, improve profitability and deliver against KPI’s.

This position will be based at Vitality Stadium Bournemouth and will report to the Head of Global Partner Activation.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend AFC Bournemouth home, as well as non-first team home fixtures and events. This can include working evenings, weekends and public holidays as assigned. The club has various policies in place to allow for time off where this working is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee activation and ensure contractual sponsorship elements (matchday and non-matchday assets) are fulfilled/executed properly for assigned AFC Bournemouth partners.
  • Lead on and update the activations central delivery documents which is shared with internal departments to outline contractual expectations for the season ahead.
  • Hold meetings with other departmental managers and heads of department to ensure contracted sponsor assets are executed on time and accordingly.
  • To activate, host and build client relationships on matchdays and non-matchdays – including The Net and club commercial events.
  • Attend non-matchday/community events on behalf of the Club as needed to manage partner activation/involvement in those events.
  • Serve as liaison with the Vitality Stadium operations team for all sponsorship-related topics.
  • Be knowledgeable and trained in Salesforce.
  • Produce monthly salesforce reports that will form part of a working group with the activations team which focuses on delivery of assets and sharing best practice.
  • Attend contracted appearances, commercial shoots, etc. as needed at sponsor’s business, community service event and/or other specified locations.
  • Track and report on partnership performance using metrics such as brand exposure, fan engagement and digital reach.
  • Present inventory and data insights for assigned partner accounts at the start of the season, mid-season and end-of-season.
  • Lead on the closed-season commercial re-branding document for the partnership programme.
  • Drive and be responsible for developing and managing a strategic plan for all of our assigned accounts that are up for renewal/expiring.
  • Coordinate internal creative meetings with other departments to develop innovative assets and ideas for your assigned sponsors.
  • Bring new and compelling ideas to current partners whenever possible (i.e. - upsell opportunities).
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships and communication between the Partnerships department and other departments such as Brand & Design, Community Sports Trust, Marketing, Media, Operations, and Ticketing.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

  • Degree level education (preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Business-to-business sales and account management experience
  • Leadership and people management capability.
  • Exceptional communication, both on the phone and face-to-face.
  • The ability to work as a member of a dynamic team but also able to work effectively on own initiative.
