The Opportunity

Permanent: Hybrid Working, Central London Location

We are partnering with an ambitious, technology-led organisation experiencing significant international growth. With a rapidly expanding European presence and a culture built around innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement, the business is investing in its operational infrastructure to support its next stage of development.

As part of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Global Payroll Specialist to join its international people function. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of complex payroll activity, work across multiple jurisdictions and help shape more efficient, scalable ways of working.

The Role

Working alongside senior payroll leadership, you will help deliver an accurate and dependable payroll service across the organisation’s European operations. France will be an important part of your remit, alongside exposure to several other international payrolls.

You will act as a key link between employees, internal business functions and third-party providers, ensuring that payroll matters are handled accurately, promptly and in line with local legislation.

  • Coordinating payroll activity across a portfolio of European locations
  • Managing key elements of the French payroll cycle
  • Reviewing payroll inputs, outputs and supporting documentation
  • Working with outsourced providers to maintain service quality and resolve discrepancies
  • Completing reconciliations and supporting payroll reporting
  • Helping prepare information for internal reviews and external audits
  • Ensuring statutory deductions, taxation and social contributions are handled correctly
  • Collaborating with colleagues across People, Finance and other business functions
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and improve payroll processes
  • Supporting the development of consistent controls and procedures across the region

About You

We would be interested in speaking with payroll professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience managing or supporting multi-country payrolls within an international business
  • Strong practical knowledge of French payroll
  • An understanding of European payroll legislation, statutory obligations and compliance
  • Exposure to German payroll, or experience covering additional European jurisdictions, would be beneficial
  • Confidence working with external payroll partners and stakeholders across different functions
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
  • A careful, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Professional fluency in English; additional European languages would be welcomed
  • An interest in using automation, AI-enabled tools or other emerging technology to improve accuracy and productivity
