Job Description: Global Planning Lead
Are you a strategic planner who thrives on connecting global vision with local execution?
We're looking for a Global Planning Lead to shape and deliver world-class media planning across Volvo's global business. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity where you'll influence how one of the world's most recognised automotive brands connects with audiences across more than 30 markets.
Working at the centre of Volvo's global marketing ecosystem, you'll transform strategic business objectives into actionable planning frameworks, ensuring consistent excellence across campaign development, channel strategy and market execution. You'll partner with senior client stakeholders, agency teams and market experts to create integrated plans that drive both brand growth and commercial performance.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the development and delivery of Volvo's global media planning strategy across key campaigns, launches and annual planning cycles.
- Translate global business objectives into clear planning frameworks, principles and guidance for local markets.
- Oversee the creation of integrated, audience-led media plans across paid, owned, earned and shared channels.
- Shape global channel investment strategies that reflect evolving consumer behaviour and business priorities.
- Partner with creative agencies, strategists, analytics teams and media partners to deliver best-in-class planning outputs.
- Drive innovation, consistency and adoption of planning best practice across 31 markets.
- Represent a consolidated view of market activity and performance to senior global stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing planning team, fostering collaboration, curiosity and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to grow the client relationship and expand the impact of the global planning function.

What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced integrated planner with a passion for solving complex challenges and delivering impactful communications strategies.
You'll bring:
- Significant experience in media, communications, digital, content or integrated planning.
- A strong track record of leading large-scale, multi-market planning initiatives.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of audience strategy, communications planning and media ecosystems.
- The ability to connect data, insights and creativity to drive business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior clients and partners.
- Excellent project management, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience working across global or regional accounts within agency, publisher or media environments.
