The Role
The Global Portfolio Manager is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and commercial excellence across global priority markets.
This role combines strategic market analysis with hands-on commercial leadership to identify regional and segment-specific growth opportunities and translate them into actionable plans. Working closely with regional sales leadership, direct sales teams, and indirect channel partners, the Global Portfolio Manager ensures alignment, capability, and execution discipline to deliver growth targets in line with Vitalograph's strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Identify and prioritise key growth opportunities across regions, customer segments, and product portfolios using market data, competitive insights, and internal performance metrics.
- Develop integrated global and regional commercial plans aligned to revenue and profitability targets.
- Translate strategy into clear, executable initiatives with defined milestones, ownership, and KPIs.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and ongoing performance tracking against growth plans.

Regional & Segment Opportunity Development
- Conduct deep analysis of regional markets (e.g., North America, EMEA, LATAM) to uncover whitespace opportunities and expansion pathways.
- Define target customer segments (e.g., hospitals, pulmonary labs, GP) and tailored value propositions.
- Support market entry strategies, including channel selection, pricing, and localisation of offerings.
Sales Partnership & Enablement (Direct & Indirect)
- Partner closely with regional direct sales teams and distributor networks to co-create and execute growth plans.
- Equip teams with the tools, training, and insights needed to drive pipeline generation and conversion.
- Establish best practices in sales processes, account management, and opportunity prioritization.
- Support key account strategies and participate in strategic deals where needed.
- Drive alignment, accountability, and performance management across both direct and indirect channels.
Product & Market Alignment
- Collaborate with Global Product Management to align commercial priorities with product strategy and roadmap.
- Provide structured market and customer feedback to inform innovation and lifecycle management.
- Lead and support successful product launches with clear positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies.
Marketing & Demand Generation
- Partner with marketing to design targeted campaigns and education initiatives aligned to priority segments and regions.
- Ensure consistent and compelling messaging tailored to local market needs.

Market Access & Commercial Insight
- Monitor reimbursement environments, healthcare policies, and competitive dynamics impacting growth.
- Integrate market access considerations into commercial planning and execution.
Performance & Analytics
- Define and track KPIs related to growth, regional performance, segment penetration, and channel effectiveness.
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies, reallocate resources, and improve execution.
Success Metrics
- Achievement of regional and global revenue growth targets
- Identification and conversion of new market and segment opportunities
- Effectiveness of direct and indirect sales channel performance
- Execution of growth initiatives on time and within plan
- Market share gains in priority regions and segments
Experience
- 7+ years of commercial experience within the medical device, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
- 3+ years in a downstream marketing, product management, or portfolio management capacity supervising multiple products simultaneously.
- Proven track record of successfully launching medical technologies in regulated environments (FDA, CE-MDR, etc.).
Skills and Competencies
- Strategic Business Acumen: Ability to construct complex business cases, model financial scenarios, and make data-driven investment trade-offs.
- Clinical Literacy: Comfort discussing complex medical procedures, anatomical terminology, and clinical trial data with medical professionals.
- Matrix Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Adaptability: Deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement models (e.g., DRGs, value-based healthcare) and their impact on portfolio adoption.
