As Public Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Global Industrial Automation Communications team, leading media engagement programmes that strengthen Schneider Electric's brand, reputation and thought leadership across key markets.

Working closely with business leaders, subject matter experts and communications colleagues, you will develop and execute integrated press relations programmes that support commercial priorities, accelerate awareness of our innovations, and elevate our share of voice in competitive markets.

This role is ideal for an ambitious communications professional who combines strong media relations expertise with a hands-on approach to execution. You will be equally comfortable developing communications strategies, advising stakeholders, creating compelling content, managing agency partners and securing impactful media coverage.

You will have the opportunity to broaden their strategic communications expertise and grow into a more senior communications leadership role within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications & Media Relations

  • Develop and execute global press relations strategies aligned with business, brand and communications objectives.
  • Translate complex business priorities, technology innovations and customer success stories into compelling media narratives.
  • Provide communications counsel to stakeholders on media opportunities, messaging and external positioning.
  • Identify emerging trends, market developments and news opportunities that support proactive storytelling and reputation building.
  • Support thought leadership positioning for Schneider Electric and its Industrial Automation leaders across key markets.

Media Engagement & Execution

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business, technology and industry trade journalists across priority regions.
  • Personally drive proactive media outreach programmes to secure high-quality earned media coverage, executive profiling opportunities and thought leadership placements.
  • Write and develop press releases, media alerts, pitches, bylined articles, customer stories, briefing documents and media toolkits.
  • Lead media engagement activities around major announcements, events, product launches, customer success stories and corporate milestones.
  • Manage media interviews, spokesperson briefings and speaking opportunities to ensure effective and consistent delivery of key messages.
  • Organise and support media events, roundtables, briefings and press conferences.
  • Work closely with agency partners to maximise campaign impact while retaining ownership of key programmes and deliverables.

Content & Campaign Development

  • Partner with marketing, content, executive comms, social media and regional communications teams to amplify stories and maximise audience reach.
  • Support the development and promotion of thought leadership content including research, whitepapers, industry insights, trend reports and executive perspectives.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate customer success stories and innovation narratives through media engagement.

Agency & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external PR consultants, ensuring clear objectives, strong performance and alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product leaders, executives and communications colleagues to identify stories and develop communications opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships across the wider organisation and influence stakeholders to support PR objectives.
  • Support leadership communications activities by providing media insights, recommendations and preparation as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
