Global Privacy & Information Governance Manager
Location: Europe (Remote)
Reports to: Chief Counsel - Global Information Governance & Privacy
Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + bonus
Position Overview
You will run the day-to-day operations of Vontier’s global privacy and data protection program, reporting to the Chief Counsel — Global Information Governance & Privacy, who owns function strategy and legal judgment. The role carries operational ownership of the program’s core machinery — assessments, data subject rights, records of processing, vendor reviews, training, and tooling across a global industrial technology company with business lines and connected products in multiple countries.
This is an operations leadership role, not a legal role — a law degree is not required, and questions requiring legal judgment route to the Chief Counsel. The role’s UK base is an asset: proximity to EU and UK regulators, GDPR-home-jurisdiction operations, and working-hours coverage for the Company’s European businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the global assessment workflow — privacy impact assessments (PIA), transfer impact assessments (TIA), and data protection impact assessments (DPIA) — and the annual BPDA (RoPA) assessment cycle end-to-end including: intake, risk evaluation, and the development and deployment of remediation action plans across the business lines.
- Provide privacy-by-design guidance to product development teams so that products and features conform to privacy-by-design principles, escalating questions requiring legal judgment to the Chief Counsel.
- Own data subject rights operations end to end — intake, verification, fulfillment, and recordkeeping — including routing controller-side requests to the applicable customer where Vontier acts as processor.
- Own the records of processing and data map and coordinate retention operations with the Company’s records management and data governance policies.
- Manage the vendor privacy program: privacy assessments, risk tiering, and coordination of data processing agreement workflows.
- Lead training and awareness — building internal support tools that address day-to-day privacy questions and building and supporting the privacy network across the business lines.
- Own the tooling and the metrics: administer the privacy management platform (Securiti.ai) day to day, maintain program KPIs, and prepare program reporting for the Chief Counsel and governance committees.
- Coordinate contractor and intern resources and support program budget tracking, delivering on-schedule work product through structured project management.
- Manage day-to-day coordination with the external German DPO, and support works council arrangements and EU/UK regulator correspondence as applicable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
