Global Category Manager - Technology - £70,000 to £75,000 | Company car | 10% bonus, company + full corporate benefits | REMOTE homebased contract with ad-hoc visits to London

A global FTSE 100 Professional Services business

This is an incredible opportunity for someone to join a market leading, truly global business who are looking for a highly Ambitious, Agile, Resilient and Strategically minded IT/Technology procurement expert.

They are looking an experienced Category Manager - Technology, with experience working for a global, multi-site and complex business experience, where main areas of focus will be managing large value and complex projects, developing robust strategies and engaging with the companies C-Suite.

The group function is going through a hugely exiting transformation within the tech landscape, where they have expanded the function and investing heavily into modernisation and digitalisation.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Report into the Head of Global Procurement - Technology, within a good sized team of fellow IT procurement colleagues at various levels, within a large group global function
  • Develop, design and continuously improve category strategies
  • End to end sourcing, within designated spend areas using a strategic approach
  • Working with the senior business leads, to develop category strategies and category planning
  • Continuous advice to your stakeholders on market trends, new innovations and knowledge of the supplier market
  • Be able to manage and understand both regulated and un-regulated complex projects
  • Ensure in parallel to strategic procurement, ensuring best commercial value for the business

Experience required:

  • Extensive experience IT, Software and Technology procurement
  • Strong and proven, strategic category management in a large complex business
  • Global and UK wide projects, understanding different complexities in various regions
  • Show that you have delivered savings, in a large and similar sized business
  • Ability to engage, negotiate and influence senior stakeholders up to Board Level
  • Strong stakeholder management, using different approaches to type, level and maturity of relationships
  • Worked in a large and cross-functional procurement team
  • MCIPS qualification nice to have, but not essential
