Job Summary:
As a Trader Associate in Global Rates, you will market-make products within your remit and manage a risk portfolio across various markets and products. You will work closely with the team, Sales, and other Trading entities, collaborating to deliver seamless execution and risk management. You will be the primary market-maker in JPY interest rate swaps and cross-currency basis, as well as the main cover trader for the JPY STIRT book. You will have the opportunity to drive initiatives and contribute to the growth of the JPY franchise.
Job Responsibilities:
- Market-make JPY interest rate swaps and long-end cross-currency basis, alongside covering the JPY STIRT book in FX Forwards and OIS
- Identify and pursue risk-taking opportunities across G10 currencies through independent research and analysis
- Collaborate with traders on other currencies and cover additional books as required
- Lead initiatives to improve desk pricing and efficiency
- Engage with clients to discuss market developments and support the growth of the JPY franchise

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Comprehensive understanding of rates markets and macroeconomic dynamics
- Relevant trading experience in interest rates
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Capacity to perform effectively under time pressure
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Prior experience trading JPY interest rate swaps is preferred; experience in other G10 currencies will also be considered
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
