Mission (About The Role)

The Global Real Estate Director plays a critical global role within Schneider Electric’s Global Supply Chain organization, responsible for driving Real Estate strategy, Facility Management excellence and governance of Physical Security across a diverse international footprint, with sustainability embedded as a core expectation.

The role ensures global consistency, operational excellence, and long-term productivity through strong governance, standards, data visibility, and cross-functional leadership.

The global director partners with Corporate Functions, Regional Operations, SERE domains, and GSC leadership to deliver a resilient, sustainable and operationally efficient real estate portfolio aligned with Schneider Electric’s strategic ambitions.

What will you do?

Global Real Estate Strategy & Portfolio Governance

  • Co-define the global Real Estate strategy with Corporate RE, Industrialization, and GSC partners to support footprint optimization and business growth.
  • Drive harmonization and transparency of the end-to-end property portfolio (offices, plants, warehouses, labs), including data quality, contracts, KPIs, and governance.
  • Oversee and support Real Estate decisions across GSC property portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic, financial, and operational priorities.
  • Deliver analytics and insights (scenario planning, location strategy, make vs lease, consolidations, climate and nature scenario) to enable informed decisions on productivity and footprint evolution.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks to ensure alignment between Corporate, Regional, and SERE teams.

Facility Management & Operational Excellence

  • Build global IFM/FM capability through benchmarking, cost transparency, and data-driven identification of outliers and productivity opportunities.
  • Standardize and elevate FM practices globally, such as promoting convergence/sharing of regional best practices in operating model and innovation.
  • Embed sustainability FM practices and sustainable vendor selection criteria into the global FM model.

Physical Security

  • Partner with Corporate Security, Regional FM, and Indirect Procurement on governance of guarding, access control, CCTV, visitor management, and incident response.
  • Global governance processes: KPIs, SLAs, vendor reviews, risk assessments, and escalation protocols.
  • Integration of physical security standards within IFM execution models.
  • Alignment with global resilience requirements and internal/external audit expectations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
