Your Role And Responsibilities

As an X-Force Red Penetration Tester, you will utilize your mathematical, coding, and analytical background to breach security systems and identify weaknesses to improve enterprise information security. Your expertise will help evaluate system security configurations, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to the design and implementation of countermeasures.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Evaluate System Security: Evaluate system security configurations to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, and perform root cause analysis to determine the cause of security breaches.
  • Conduct Penetration Testing: Attempt to hack into networks to access information without authorization, and document findings to produce reports detailing the effectiveness of security systems.
  • Design Countermeasures: Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations.
  • Analyze Software Systems: Perform analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems.
  • Present Technical Reports: Prepare and present technical reports and briefings to Technical and Executive teams, and provide recommendations for improving security systems.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Mathematical and Coding Background: Experience with mathematical, coding, and analytical concepts to breach security systems and identify weaknesses. Proficiency in programming languages and mathematical modeling is essential for this role.

System Security Evaluation: Experience evaluating system security configurations to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Knowledge of security protocols and threat analysis is necessary to perform root cause analysis and determine the cause of security breaches.

Penetration Testing: Experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools to attempt to hack into networks and access information without authorization. Ability to document findings and produce reports detailing the effectiveness of security systems.

Complex Software Analysis: Experience analyzing complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems. Understanding of software development life cycles and system integration is necessary for this role.

Countermeasure Development: Experience contributing to the design, development, and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations. Knowledge of security frameworks and regulations is essential for this role.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Reverse Engineering Skills: Experience with reverse engineering techniques to analyze and understand software systems, identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Ability to apply this knowledge to develop countermeasures and improve security systems.

Familiarity with Emerging Technologies: Exposure to new software and hardware that can improve computer security, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field to inform security needs and recommendations.

Technical Reporting: Experience preparing and presenting technical reports and briefings to Technical and Executive teams, effectively communicating complex security concepts and recommendations.
