Our client, an innovative, global solutions based organisation, now requires a Global Sustainability and ESG Manager, who will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the global ESG strategy, ensuring alignment across with regulatory requirements and corporate sustainability goals.

This role has hybrid/ remote working arrangements as well as an attractive compensation and benefits package including car allowance and other benefits.

The Role:

This role requires strong strategic thinking to shape long-term ESG direction aligned to business priorities, alongside exceptional communication skills to translate complex ESG data into clear, compelling narratives for stakeholders.

The role will also play a critical part in driving organisational transformation through effective change management, embedding ESG principles into business operations, culture, and decision-making processes.

This role will also lead the global sustainability programme, overseeing carbon accounting, ESG reporting, sustainability initiatives, external assessments, and continuous improvement across all regions.

As the Global Sustainability and ESG Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • ESG strategy and implementation: developing objectives, KPIs and governance frameworks whilst translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and driving change management across regions and functions
  • Data, reporting and disclosure: ensuring close attention to detail and governance mindset in ESG data collection and reporting which can be translated into clear insights for executives, boards and investors
  • Compliance and risk management: applying a strong governance mindset to ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions, whilst implementing robust controls, policies and audit readiness processes
  • Stakeholder engagement: utilising communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively whilst demonstrating leadership and collaboration by building strong partnerships across functions and geographies
  • Culture and change management: driving ESG integration through structured change management initiatives whilst fostering a culture of sustainability through leadership and collaboration
  • Continuous improvement: benchmarking ESG performance against industry peers whilst staying informed on emerging trends, standards, and best practices and identifying opportunities to enhance ESG maturity and impact

Operating at a strategic level, as the Global Sustainability and ESG Manager you will be required to devise, implement and influence at all levels.

The Candidate:

Ideally of graduate standard from within a business, sustainability or finance related field, candidates will also preferably have obtained their relevant professional ESG or sustainability certification such as GRI Professional Certification, IEMA, ISSP, CFA ESG or equivalent.

In addition, candidates for the Global Sustainability and ESG Manager role will be required to demonstrate that they have:

  • previous experience working in the same or similar ESG or sustainability role
  • the ability to align ESG with wider business priorities
  • a strong understanding of sustainability reporting principles and ESG frameworks
  • experience of driving organisational change management initiatives
  • previous experience of working on a pan-European / international business basis
  • the ability to be analytical, strategic and results driven with a strong commitment to success and excellence
  • outstanding organisational and presentation skills
  • high level attention to detail and governance mindset in reporting and compliance

In addition, for this Global Sustainability and ESG Manager role, candidates should also have:

  • excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
  • the capability to be a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and a positive, professional attitude
  • the ability to work effectively both within a team but also under their own initiative, demonstrating they are a capable individual, who is used to multi-tasking and can prioritise their workload in order to meet exacting deadlines and deliver agreed outcomes
  • the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence across all levels of the business
